Vinnetrow reacted to O&RBike in Ohlsson & Rice Powered BMX Bike
Looking at pictures of vintage BMX bikes online, we noticed a lot of the high end bikes of the day had a gusset behind the fork neck. Of course we had to have one too....

We figured out early on working on the floor or bench wasn't going to cut it. We turned down a piece of black pipe and clamped it in the vise. Then we could drop the front fork neck over it and it conveniently allows us to swing the frame around from side to side. It would work better if we squared the bottom end to clamp it...instead we just cranked down on it hard enough to flatten the pipe lol...
Here you see the new hub laced into the rear wheel and the 72T sprocket mounted...

Vinnetrow reacted to Anglo Traction in Yellow Mower Challenge!
Grass still not growing yet!, maybe the maintenance people crept around and did it when I wasn't looking.
When able, I carried on with the spare engine. Proper sized rings arrived-
........now fitted and good as new.
Replacement (used) HT Coil received (took a flyer on the Auction site) and a new plug. So all the parts ready to assemble-
All back together and the ignition and timing all done and spot-on-
Er!, you may have noticed I have 2 Bronze Flywheels in the earlier pic,one with a silver Cover Plate and a Matt Black painted one.
Plan is to run this engine in with 2 Flywheels on. they are not the same though.
One has a standard Nut for a Kick Start Dog Ratchet, and the other is from John/Alan's Donor Mower which has the Pull Start Ring (dated 1957 by the way),
The Black cover plate will allow me to check and set the Revs easily with the Laser Tacho-
I'll probably go the 'Heath Robinson' route with a Frame to mount it in with a 'Victorian' look about it with lots of Brass, Copper and Nickel Silver.
There will most likely be an unusual Fuel Tank and may have it driving something (stationary), so I will probably shift the progress on it to another Forum section?.

Vinnetrow reacted to Ian in Drift Trike
Cool video Max, that looks like great fun. There's something about going sideways that always brings on a big grin
The dog looked very tired at the end though, the poor fella could only run very slowly

Vinnetrow reacted to pmackellow in New addition to the Cub Cadet collection
The Cadet 81 that has featured on this forum a bit has found a new home in sunny Sussex
I collected it from Johns this morning, lovely to see him again and meet Alan for the first time
We had a good look around but nothing else caught my eye
Tractor now home and will go to Tractorfest tomorrow
Thanks again to John and Alan, and to Mr Showman for his input
Photos show the Cadet as loaded at Johns, then on the way home, then at home, I have already found a gear knob that fits and
cleaned the tractor up a bit

Vinnetrow reacted to Will-Haggle in Yesterday's Farming
On 15th and 16th of August I went to Yesterday's Farming Show, held in Puckington, Nr. Langport, Somerset. Lousy start on Friday wet all day but made it onto the site unaided, finally found the campsite with he help of Charlie Moore and his Landrover, set the caravan up. Saturday was much better, display set up, went round the ring with my latest machine, a 1960 Merry Tiller, the only one that ran!
First two pictures show two International Cub Cadets in the ring with the International tractors, international being the featured make this year. First we have Horticultural Steward Marcus Stephens on his 76, then Charlie Holland on his larger model.
Third picture is of Charlie Holland's load, a Trojan Toractor.
Fourth one is Marcus' Monrotiller, which also developed a fit of the gripes in the ring.
Fifth one is a line up of horticultural section in the ring.
Sixth one is the second line.
Seventh and Eighth is my Merry Tiller Tarpen display[

Vinnetrow got a reaction from HeadExam in Rudgwick Steam & Country Show - 29th-31st August 2015
The 29th annual Rudgwick Steam & Country Show held near Horsham. A very large show that always presents a great amount of variety. It lasts the whole three days of the august bank holiday weekend so attracts a lot of people
Here's their website, thankfully the show is more organised than the website http://www.rudgwicksteamshow.co.uk/

Vinnetrow reacted to meadowfield in Playtime in the Gill
Sorry about the poor quality, had to resort to some phone footage and free wifi.
Here's a few minutes of playtime over the last few days. The rain has been atrocious and the Gill (stream, river, creek) is in flood.

Vinnetrow reacted to Stormin in Rural Past Times Day's 1 and 2
Just a few I took.
My hotel for the weekend.
Sutton Haulage in the arena.
I would have liked to have taken this Gunsmith home.
The line up.
A motley crew.
