slf-uk got a reaction from Triumph66 in More bolens traction
Chris,
Where have all the HT's gone!! I have similar regrets about one that came up just after I bought mine, it's really not good that so few come up for sale. Yes, we do need to find a way to meet up soon.
BTW. we need to watch out for Andrew, we now have some serious competition for any Bolens that comes up for sale. Don't tell him I said so though

It does indeed
Hi Andrew, we did think about using the grinder but as the door was closed making it hard to get a power cable out there..
I'm not sure which is the worse word.. Restoration or Bolens
Very much so Norm
Hi Iain, it was not so much an electronic tag, more of a Kubota wing indicator... Handy if we loose the Lord in the dark you see
Very good Chris
For your viewing pleasure here;s the first video from the new workshop.

Lord Mower Land does look the part. Is that the old fashion version of an electronic tag he is wearing around his neck

I have a 1010 which the smaller version with a vertical crank engine. They made these tractors from really good steel and as such they last well.

Thanks Andrew, it was a shack decorating pressie from Ben
Hi Iain, yep getting organized now though I've not found enough space for everything to have a home yet.. Some stuff may have to stay boxed up for a little while longer.
I'm going to try and keep the new place tidy.. It's so nice to be able to get around the big bench without having to move or climb over stuff as it was in the old shack..
Well chaps, a couple of big milestones were passed today.. The first being I finally wired in my little radio to some big speakers via and old stereo thingy so now I no longer have to listen to tinny sounding rock music from the DAB radios little speaker and I now have the sound power to drown out Nigel's singing
The second milestone we shall get to in a bit..
The workshop is now about 85% done.. Ok, I still need to bolt the lathe motor and pulley down..
An organized bench..
Quite possibly the tidiest and cleanest this big bench will ever look.. It's nice to have the bench space to bolt my sheet metal folder on to
And as the big project bench was looking tidy I thought I'd take a few photo's of it as well
And the second big milestone?? Well with the workshop being 85% done it means it's done enough to be operational.. (The remaining 15% will be done as it's needed)..
So the only thing to do was to have an opening ceremony, for which the local royalty was called in to do the honors...
It gives me great pleasure to introduce the Mayor of Mower Land
"I pronounce this workshop open"!!

Looks like you are getting very organised, with everything having it's place. A far cry from my workshop especially at the moment.

This would be a good base for a forklift project, to make something like a mini Moffett Mounty

Been out most of the weekend, but managed to finish the handbrake. Pretty pleased with yet another reuse of a wheel horse part and it works perfectly
Here it is off

Ditto
Maybe we need to ask the plough experts to start some MOM ploughing classes, it seems like a number of people want to have a go.

This is a great post and has the makings of a good movie, in that it is a great story, it made me laugh (a lot) and had some sad moments (poor Limpy).
Ian, I think you and Nigel are going to have lots of fun and I am looking forward to hearing the stories.

My Haban flail has casters on the front but I find that because it is so far out front that even a very small change from flat ground results in the flail lifting or dropping a lot. You might find you would benefit from adding a belt tensioner so the belt tension is constant on all terrain.

Hi all
The ploughs are as follows Ransome TS42 pulled by MG crawler the wheelhorse has a plough borrowed from a BMB cultmate walk behind My own plough is part of a pair one left hand one right hand
They are called a butterfly ploughs but when you are competing you can only use one plough
hope this gives you an idea what we use
Thanks

slf-uk got a reaction from diggerjames in One of the New horses purchased The C121
Unbelievable how much grass was hidden, you got a free compost heap with the tractor!
It looks like a really tidy machine, I like it. I also like the new exhaust, you didn't waste any time sorting that out. When I put a tractor exhaust on my D-160 I put a support from the bend to the chassis to remove some of the stress from the exhaust port. I am not sure if it is necessary but it made me feel better.
Before my C-121 auto was parked under the hedge the auto was swapped for a 3-speed so I have not idea what an auto would be like on a C-series. My Bolens H16's hydro are really fun to use so I imagine it would be much the same for a C-series auto.
