Thanks, going to concentrate on getting the engine running right, I'm not keen on the drayton with its tendencies to run on the oil in the crankcase and over revv ect and become difficult to stop! Suppose it's avoided by draining regularly.

May bring another machine to HVC rally, could do without any deadlines in case I've got the engine in bits!

Guessing a Later MG2 or MG5 judging by the steel ID plate.

The magnetos are fairly common, I'm sure you'll have it up and running soon.

The other skimmer chassis has had the sides cut away the same so looks as if it may be an original modification.

The cable will be be solid is it, I wonder if it's like what outboard motors use to steer? You could maybe cut one down.

Remember the little square raised blocks for the engine mounting, when replacing the floor.

Looks virtually smoke free!

Mine steers exactly how you describe it, sluggish on tarmac, not great in 3rd gear unless you have a bit of momentum.

Looks better without that big piece of channel welded to the back.
