  1. Apologies for not getting back to you, been knackered with the heat, work & change of medication recently. The con-rod bearing, are you talking about the lower one for the crank pin? and if you are, does it have a slot in the bottom on the con-rod? this determines which type of bearing should be used. I have collected bearing info from the parts diagrams I have (1961/62/64 & up), need to check if I have more 1963 info, as they changed the bearing types from Oct 1963 to using steel cages, instead of the nylon plastic ones. David
  2. I've now got more information, engine type 13B329 in for an Orline chainsaw, release date was 7-18-73 according to the list. David
  3. Bienvenue sur le forum, les manuels du taille-haie Little Wonder alimenté par O&R se trouvent dans le fil ci-dessous ; Welcome to the forum, manuals for the O&R powered Little Wonder hedge trimmer, can be found in the thread below; Les PDF du manuel ne peuvent être téléchargés que si vous êtes connecté. The manual PDFs can only be downloaded if you are logged in. David
  4. The patent was filed by two people from Wrightsville Ga (Georgia), it seems a very specialist use, possibly they didn't sell many of them. And pine trees are mentioned in the patent too, this would fit with the JB tree shaped logo. Can anyone confirm the engine Type/Model used, I suspect it might be Type 97, this is listed as a "Chipper Saw" from Comet Industries, Type 97 is not mentioned in any of the Comet literature I've seen, could they have made it for JB Bennett? David
  5. If your in the UK/Europe I can help with the; idle screw & spring, and carb diaphragm & diaphragm cover gasket. Sorry I can't help with the air filter, they are often missing and everyone wants them. But if you have access to a lathe, you could make something to fit, example of one made by @Terry L here (post #9). David
  6. A bit of research which may or may not be related. I've found a reference to a J. B. Bennett Power Chipper, it's described as a mechanical gum harvester, developed by farmer Julian Bennett, the date of 1962 fits with the age of the engine. Link below from the web archive, as the original is offline ATM; http://web.archive.org/web/20210419002330/https://sclfind.libs.uga.edu/atfa/timeline/index.html And a patent for a power tree chipper, a portable unit powered with "one-half horse-power two cycle" engine, for chipping bark from trees to allow harvesting of sap or gum. Date the patent was applied for was also 1962, but the machine shown in the diagrams differs, also has a built in sprayer using the exhaust conduit and a fuel cut-off valve in the handle. https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/originalDocument?CC=US&NR=3121974A&KC=A&FT=D&ND=4&date=19640225&DB=&locale=en_EP# David
  7. The coil cover & cylinder cooling baffle/shield is very similar, to that used on the Comet tools range. To me the logo almost looks like a tree, with a bit missing. Edit: Is this another on the chainsaw collectors forum? it's quite an old post, described as being a J B Bennett product, no picture of the decal though. http://www.chainsawcollectors.se/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?p=7481&sid=aa179800760c2ce76999ac114cc7cf94#p7481 David
  8. Welcome to the forum, good to see you got the pictures working, the Type 160 engine was once part of a Little Wonder hedge trimmer, of course heavily modified to use for something such as a model plane, as you've already figured out. David
  9. There is no choice but to use the UY-6 (10mm) in older engines, unless the cylinder is replaced with the 14mm type used on all later engines. As for the CJ-8 & CJ-14 (both 14mm), they were both still listed in the 1971 master parts price list, but O&R did recommended to use the CJ-8 for chainsaw engines in a service bulletin. Note, some of the modern Champion spark plugs have a none removable solid top for the plug cap. Earlier coils require the type with a threaded top for the plug lead, unfortunately this means searching for old stock, some sellers use generic pictures so best to ask to confirm what they are selling. David
  10. I've got a couple of parts lists scanned, just need to get them edited & create a pdf. I've also got the operators book but this hasn't yet been scanned, the quality is about the same as the photocopy that I got on ebay some years ago (i.e. very poor). David
  11. It's one of those older style coils, where the plastic casing has reacted to an unknown chemical, we've seen they melted looking & gone sticky before. That one might be the worst we've seen though, as the top layer of windings are visible. I guess one day we'll probably get a post mentioning someone using the wrong chemical to clean it and it ending up like that. The 230V DC outlet was probably removed to prevent damage to appliances that require AC to operate, i.e those fitted with transformer. The AC outlet is on the other side. David
  12. Apologies for the rather long delay, the 09-843S-9 impeller impeller does fit, also easy to remove when you need to store the pump. The paper gasket in the SPX impeller kit is no use, as the holes don't line up, you would need to make a new one if needed. I seem to recall someone asked for measurements of the pump body too, this one measures at 1.76" internal diameter and the shaft is approx 0.307" in diameter. The new impeller should be 1.78" diameter & 0.31" shaft diameter according to the spec in post #24 . David
  13. They are a loose fit, I've only had one some out when running and that was because the vane flag was bent the wrong way. If it comes out of the carb the engine will run away, keep an eye on it when you try it for the first time and be ready to use the kill switch, or close the choke if it misbehaves. David
  14. PDF of the NIAE report is here if anyone hasn't seen it; David
  15. I've saved them, here are a few pictures of the Warn GW801B winch with Cox/Roper 140 engine from ePay. David
  16. The only shipping option turned out to be express, might have been a bit longer if they weren't available in Europe. They should fit, will confirm at the weekend. David
  17. Well the impellers I ordered are here, also included are some random bits for whatever modern equipment they fit. Comparison with the old one. David
  18. Wayne PC1 & PC2 pumps apparently use a smaller diameter impeller, listed as "Impeller dimensions: 1-3/8" Diameter, 1/2" Width D Shaped Key Hub for 5/16" Shaft" here; https://www.amazon.com/Utility-Water-Transfer-Impeller-Replacement/dp/B06XDHJYVL/ There is still the possibility the whole pump assembly could be removed from the electric motor and adapted to fit one of these engines missing the pump unit, you would still need to make the shaft adaptor if the original was missing. David
  19. I've had a quick look tonight, not many drill pumps show the type of impeller fitted* and the few that do, show an impeller that fits on a splined shaft, not what we want. *Possibly this is because they are cheap enough to throw in the trash & buy another complete pump. David
  20. I've been asked check the internal diameter of the Orline pump, I will do when I have time. Something I didn't mention, the pump was the same unit fitted to at least six different brands of pump with the O&R engine, including the Orline Utility pump (pictured above), Comet Tote'N pump, Petro Chug-A-Pump, Little Handy pump, Orion Manufacturing pump and Merc-O-Tronic Min-I-Pump. I have four of those and most can be found on the forum. The Orline Utility pump instructions mention the OEM of the pump unit was Western Brass Works of 1440 North Spring Street, Los Angeles, unsurprisingly this company no longer exists and was dissolved in 1980, the building is now a church. Also I've had a more detailed look at the two SPX Johnson pumps that use the impellers highlighted in a previous post. The TA3P10 is a toilet waste pump and F3B-19 an oil change pump, according to the instructions that are on the web. This chart is from the SPX "flexible impeller pump for marine usage" book here; https://www.rosesmarine.com/pdfs/OEM_book.pdf Last night I also had a look to see if Jabsco made any impeller of the same size and unfortunately they don't have anything suitable. David
  21. No those model plane engines predate the Compact range, they are all tiny in comparison. I have seen a couple of Little wonder hedge trimmer appear in Germany in the past and the Carbra hedge cutters in France, not seen much else in Europe. First one I've seen broken in that place too, usually the threaded section snaps off at the flywheel end. Did you find all the bearing rollers and was the second star retainer present? Also clean the crankcase & check for cracks. The induction case on that engine will have an O-ring instead of the gaskets used on earlier engines, not 100% sure what spacers & gaskets are fitted for the cylinder with it being from 1975. David
  22. I've ordered two of the 09-843S-9 impeller kits from an Italian marine supplier, seems no one in the UK does the 8 vane version, will report back if/when they arrive. David
  23. Well I can't blame the sellers, as the manufacturer SPX (makes the Johnson pump brand) gives the same measurements. https://www.spxflow.com/johnson-pump-marine/products/original-impeller-kits/ The two highlighted impellers are the same measurements as one I just removed from an Orline version of the pump, the difference is the number of lobes. The info on the SPX website suggest the impellers have a short life (as most products made from rubber do) and should be removed from the pump if not in use. There might be pattern parts the same, quality may vary though. David
  24. A while ago I had a go at making some, had to use three pieces to get the same thickness as the two gaskets originally used, also note the earliest engines have a single thinner gasket. David
  25. I'm going to need to recheck an old one, but have possibly found something that may work, a Johnson impeller part no. F3B-19, they aren't cheap enough to buy without double checking sizes, but websites state they are ½" (12.8mm) wide, 1.78" (45.2mm) overall diameter and shaft size is 0.31" (8mm) with flat D shape. Edit: Already seeing inaccuracies from those metric conversions provided by a UK website. David
