Easily, the worst part of this whole saw is the process you have to go through to access even simple things that are in view!  And some fasteners are really hard to get at.  This shows a straight blade screwdriver in a Phillips head screw just to get it started most of the way.  UGH!

So, after figuring all this out and obtaining a nice spark, I had to decrease the points gap to about .018", because it seemed like it wanted to start, but just couldn't take off and run.  Basically advancing the timing got it to run quite well.  Next, was finishing the paint for the rest of the parts, and sharpen the 3/8's chain.
Off to the wood pile for some cuts and pictures.

This old school type Chicken Power has been in wind chime mode for a very long time. It was painted probably 5 or 6 years ago and just hanging around on wires. The engine is a very low hour and the recoil was already done, just needed a decal. It took longer to wipe off all of the dust LoL. Still needs some recoil screws but that's about it.
Poor Terry always gets it from me about how long it takes so here ya go Terry, just teed it up for ya. Here's another too, been sanding the parts for that Bee Jay winch and that's the engine in the engine rebuild pics thread from 2015

factory reacted to Captian in Nichols model d set. # 6369
Just found your blog on Nichols generator. Almost gave up on finding anything on it. Cleaning out the old mans shop. Looks like it’s pretty clean unit. Compression seems real good, sucks my finger in hard. No gas storage in tank no cracks or bulging. No batteries in box but there is a small amount of scale from battery. I fix a lot of everything. From where sit I  think it  would run with  small amount of clean out etc. can anyone give me an idea on what it’s worth? I’m retired and have to many other projects that come first. This unit been in shop as long I can remember. I’m sure it’s a 1 owner, I don’t remember ever seeing it run when I was a kid. Thanks for any feedback

So these have a different pitch chain to the more common O&R/ORline versions (& rebrands or these)?

Some of the later O&R/AEP powered chainsaws did have what they claimed was an automatic chain oiler, from old adverts I suspect they just incorporated it into the throttle control.

Same here with auto-correct, sometimes it's just completely useless.

It's nothing unusual, just an older 3/4HP engine, these Type 133 engines have turned up with a wide range of serial numbers indicating the military were wasting tax payers money for several years and leaving us with plenty of nice NOS engines on the surplus market too.

P.S. What's the Somme (WWI) got to do with it?  We don't want that getting out, as it's bad enough people incorrectly listing them as WWII vintage.

I can email some pics of the chip a saw decal with dimensions later today if that helps. Might have a print of one from usedtoolman which might be better to use for duplication but let me know. Depending on cost, I could use 3 decals for the older saw. It was stripped down but never painted

I’ve been hoping for a long time I would find one of these and after months of constant searching I finally hit gold.  Wish it had the cut-away gear box too but I’m thrilled just to have the engine. It needs a recoil spring and pull rope to complete it and of course a thorough cleaning. I’ll have to come up with a cool display stand as well.  It’ll look cool with the recent brochure that also shows this engine.

Nice find Paul. For some reason that spark-plug cap reminds me of those used on old CRT TV's for the high voltage connection.

    @CNew needs to do some more homework , the letters forming part of the model number on these TAS/Tanaka engines gives the tool they were used on, e.g;
    *BC= brush cutter
    *CS= chain saw
    *ED= engine drill
    *EG= electric generator
    *HT= hedge trimmer
    *OB= outboard

The history page at "Hitachi/Metabo" indicates the T-23 engine was produced from 1975.
They are also still incorrectly claiming to have introduced the world smallest industrial two-stroke engine (P7) in 1962, how wrong they are.
    https://www.metabo-hpt.com/us/main-navigation/tanaka-history
And they still can't spell Villiers.

Here are some more pictures of the mystery mini-bike, sorry @CNew just noticed I haven't taken a complete front view picture.

No tools are required to separate the three parts, it has a spring loaded mechanism for the frame & the seat section just slides in.

Not sure either, but I've edited posts to fix broken web links before.

I have all seven pictures from the ePay auction for this model, it doesn't look like a toy to me, more something a model engineer may have built, the copper parts are solid not tubes. If anyone was wondering it sold for $844.

RC glow plugs use low voltage from a battery to heat the coil in the plug, not the high voltage from the magneto.
