Finally managed to get back to 137 and weld up the rims, I used the half tractor that came with it as a work stand that enabled me to rotate the wheel as I welded it. Tacked them first and then welded opposing segments inside and out and then ground the welds flush.I am going to dunk them in the de rust tank to take the rust out of the pits and then a light skim of filler before painting. Interestingly during the cleaning process a lot of the original paint has come to light and it is clear that the earlier tractors used a darker more caret red than is commonly seen on later models. I have sand blasted the galleried load rollers, these are all worn to below 7.5" diameter which will mean that I shall have to turn them down to a common size and then fit a shrink tyre on the wear edges to take them back to 8", Not worked out how to do that yet unless I can find some 8" o.d thick wall steel pipe and take off some slices.

Joe the small engine man reacted to Danarmaggedon in danarm DDA 110
Thanks again Anglo.
Yes I did find that site previously, a good source of info!
Just to correct what I said before, the Pioneer 620 is not exactly the same as the Danarm DDA110 but is very similar, the grips and covers are slightly different and according to that site the carb is too.
I'll post pictures up when I get a chance to take some.
Joe, yours is missing a small rectangular metal plate on the hand protecting bar, you can just about see the welds on yours where it was fitted.

Joe the small engine man reacted to Danarmaggedon in danarm DDA 110
Hi all,
I've just acquired the same model Danarm which was my fathers and last used well over 10 years ago. Thanks to info on here (thanks Anglo Traction) and elsewhere I've rebuilt the carb and fuel system (it was left with some fuel in which ate the fuel pipe), tinkered with the ignition and recoil starter and now it fires up and works a treat!
Just wanted to say for parts the DDA 110 is exactly the same model as the slightly earlier Canadian Pioneer 620 (not S620). I guess Danarm imported them and badged them as their own.
Carb rebuild kit needed for this model is Tillotson RK-114HL.
I'm planning on stripping it down and repainting it but I've a couple of others of my fathers I need to sort out first.
If anyone has any photos of a DDA110 (not to be confused with the later 110 Manual and Automatic) showing all the original stickers etc. that would be appreciated as most of mine have gone.
Anyway thanks again for the info, it helped me for sure!

I got this last week. I bought it off the second owner from the restoration, it was restored in late 2013 to an extremely high standard, one of the best i have seen, all it needs is a choke cable fitting, i was given the before pictures as well. Here are a couple of pics

Joe the small engine man reacted to Wristpin in barn find FE35
If, when you bought it there was oil in the sump I think that it unlikely that either the main or big end bearings are the culprit - unless , of course the engine had seized in use . As you have suspected, the steel / cast iron rings have most likely seized to the bores/ liners.
Can you drop the sump and slacken off all the bearing caps and see if there is any "rock" on the crank?

well everyone, not good news on the Ferguson! I had a go at moving the cylinder, but no chance! in the end after 3 or so hours lightly hitting it, I got the sledge hammer out and waked them with it and a block of wood, there wasn't even on inch or a mm of movement. I think the bearing are seized, in the crank and because the cylinders are at the top and bottom of their stroke it will take a bit to move it! so its on hold now, until at least a few months! not very happy but i'm very busy with the business and customers! so there wont be much update for a bit of time!
I'm almost thinking of selling it and buying a different tractor! but not sure just yet, so no-one get any ideas
regards Joe

Joe the small engine man reacted to mg_rob in Cletrac HG
Hi all
Here are a few photos of my Cletrac HG31. I bought this crawler sometime around 1998 as best as I can remember.
It is the narrowest version of the HG that was made and was intended for vineyard use, my HG came from a vineyard somewhere in France. It has a 4 cylinder Hercules petrol engine, starting is via the handle only as it has no electrics.
I wasted most of the night looking for these photos on various computer backups only to realise they were from my pre digital days
