  1. I decided to further investigate the above story and found out that while it is essentially true, it does not reflect or tell the entire story of the incident in the cross posting debacle. This type of cross posting is also know as seed posting, it grows threads and thereby site traffic. Carbon Media has said that it fired MANY employees that were involved in seed posting, so it was pervasive in this company and may be in other companies. I have to believe that this type of false site traffic, if discovered, would shed a bad light on the company and if word got back to the advertisers, ad revenue would go down. So I think that media companies that own forums would not permit this to go on if they were made aware. That said, in signing up to these forums owned by Media Groups, you relinquish the rights to any and all images and information posted on the site. I just wanted to bring a little more balance to the story.
  2. I got the same frame in the same condition with a D series tractor, of course its for a C series tractor and has no blade, I haven't rehomed it yet, I but may put it as a buy it now like you are.
  3. Great to see the old girl up and running. These old tractors really work better if they are started and ran often, they don't like to sit around much. Very professional video, great job Joseph and Iain
  4. My plan was to put the Onan generator on the Ariens GT14H with the 54 inch front plow (removing the plow of course) and Brinly tandem disc, but the front crankshaft had been previously damaged somehow and the electric PTO clutch would not operate correctly and I feared it might ruin the clutch. Since the Onan generator was made for an Ariens front mount I removed the 48" front shaft drive snow blower from my other Ariens GT14H, not a difficult task and I tested it out and I am ready for any power outages. In all fairness the odds of me needing a 48" shaft drive Snow Blower here in Oklahoma are very slim and I have at least 4 other tractors that have front snow plows on them now and I can outfit 8-10 more. My next project is to hook up a disconnect and power outlet to run the 240 volts from the generator into the electrical panel. I'm going to have a real certified licensed electrician do this as I have already been electrocuted too many times, not fun, But in the mean time we can run a few extension cords in emergency to power the essentials, refrigerator, freezer, coffee pot, TV, computer and phone chargers. We have a fireplace and 14" thick walls we don't need to turn the heat on very often anyway
  5. I know what you mean, the wife "found" three more in the barn she claims she never knew about. I told her we might have to have the doctor check her for Alzheimers, she said if end of deceased she might not remember that either, time to shut up.
  6. I knew My Old Machine was independent and there are a few others. It seems that owning HUNDREDS of forums allows Media Group owners to reap huge profits from national advertisers, something that can still be done by independent owners. Even though one agrees to the terms of service I see something very wrong in changing the name of a poster and posting their material under a different name in a different forum, this goes way beyond what I believe to be contractional in that you cannot enter into an agreement that forfeits rights of the individual, but maybe so. I know a landlord or employer cannot make stipulations to a contract that removes the rights of an individual and I really do not believe other companies should be able to either, but as we in America have seen, when the media companies band together they control the information.
  7. Apparently many online forums are owned by a small number of companies, Carbon Media Group being one of the larger entities (scroll down to the bottom of any page and it says the name of the owner or the platform. Apparently Carbon Media Group has been caught taking posts from one forum and cross posting them into another forum under a different user name, other media groups have done this as well.. This is done to increase post counts and advertising revenue. These forum owning media groups (CMG in this case) have admitted to doing this and it is actually a part of their terms of service, that anything you post they own and can use whenever and where ever they want. One of the forums that some members here belong to was recently sold to Carbon Media Group and many of the long time members and moderators were very upset, because some moderators were removed, some quit and the membership was largely kept in the dark about the sale of the forum, consequently some users left the forum. Here is a magazine article that explains it in further detail. https://www.plagiarismtoday.com/2015/03/26/when-forums-break-their-users-trust/ One of the biggest complaints is from people who have documented extensive builds of various intellectual property that the media company owns once they purchase a forum. After purchase these media groups can sell, move, trade or profit from any intellectual property or images posted and that include along with personal data that can be sold to marketing companies . This is just information that anyone should know, I have no (public) opinion on the matter one way or the other. I will tell you that the people who started and built many of these website forums often claimed that the reason they started their own forums was because of being members of a forum that was bought by one of these media groups and the ensuing takeover that resulted in a loss of camaraderie among members. This is just FYI information, that anyone can get, but many do not know. I think its important to fully understand the implications when you click the box "I agree with the terms of service" because after all very few people ever read these terms. Facebook is no different and it's common practice as is the intellectual property of a individual belongs to a company or government that individual works for. I'm not trying to stir the pot or make anyone mad or unhappy, just information for the masses that questions where the line between ownership and plagiarism is drawn.
  8. I have 4 grandchildren from 18 years old to almost born, this is one is my first grandson, George Peyton, named for his great-great grandfather on my mothers side George Peyton Thompson, yup an Irishman snuck into our German French family tree, along with his half Cherokee wife. He likes tractor and airplanes
  9. What would happen if a person got under the hose, wow
  10. Thanks a bunch guys, my gift and blessing is just being here, I thought my troubles were over when I quit drinking and smoking then came the colon cancer and surgery, so far so good. The friends I have that are still alive lost bets on me reaching this age, I might have to make a toast o 60 years of age.
  11. Yours is a Wheel Horse original for the slotted Wheel Horse hitch, hard o say whether it was made by Brinly, Ohio Steel, or Wheel Hose themselves. The other plow is a sleeve hitch plow and most other garden tractors used this type of implement, because like a 3 point lift patented by ford, the attachments would fit all tractors. The other excepts are Gravely and Sears/David Bradley. Gravely implements were most often brand specific and would not fit other machines. Most of the Sears/DB stuff was a modified narrower Cat 0 three point lift, but instead of being 19-20 inches between lift bars the Sears/DB hitches were 12". They also featured a different style top or center link. Often people will attempt to use Sears/DB stuff on Cat 0 lifts and it doesn't work unless you modify it with proper re fabrication.
  12. You lucky dogs, They should have a amusement park that offered these kind of toys to drive instead of roller coasters and such.
  13. Yep move it back. I may be wrong, but this appears to be a stock Wheel Horse plough from the early to mid 1960s that someone "stretched". If the plow isn't set right grass will clog the disk and moldboard gumming up the process, it might have been lengthened to solve that problem but creating another.
  14. No drooling https://www.purplewave.com/auction/171107/item/DC3801
  15. Congratulations, I can see you beaming clear across the pond, as you should, well deserved
  16. I hope that is enough, you might need less than 6" and don't forget to set the suck (tilt or toe in) and list, on flat ground the plough should lean slightly, you can recreate the lean by make the plough level when the left two tires on are 4" blocks. This simulates two right wheels in a furrow and correct the lean of the tractor to the plough. Brinly has a manual detailing this, but path Norman gave will probably be the easiest to understand.
  17. You need to be able to move the plow off center to the right to lessen the furrow width. The position a plough needs to be will be different on tractors with different wheel base widths
  18. Thumbs up to Joseph, not many lads his age working at learning the industrial arts, not many twice his age. Looks Like you've done a good job.
  19. No kidding, I was really impressed with the ability to plough under those conditions
  20. Happy Birthday Iain, Hope you have a real special day.
  21. I see those all the time at swap meets, often very little interest, as there are so few of those machines, I just don't know why I see the plow shears and parts everywhere?

    Find value

The wheel weights are from a Sears garden tractor, not a Wheel Horse. The Wheel Horse Anniversary Editions came out in 1995 I believe, and if not mistaken the model number was 73362, however the 1996 model is also designated as model 73362, but the serial number on the 95, models begin with 5 and the 1996 models begin with 6. If it is a 1994 model the model number is 73380 or 73400, the model 73380 had a 12 hp Kohler Magnum 12S in it and the model 73400 had a 14 hp Kohler Magnum 14S in it.
  23. I would get other estimates, I could see 300.00, but nowhere neat 3,000
  24. The pictures are fantastic. Wish I could find a nice Bolens 600, super little machines.
