Really pleased with it. Link armes raise and lower when trailer tips and lowers but small price to pay.

4x4forks got a reaction from Triumph66 in Hydraulic Tipping Trailer
Well the ground is to wet to do anything so I started a new project.
A hydraulic tipping trailer. As i work with Fork lifts I aquired a damaged side shift Ram . I stripped and straightened the rod. Closed lenght of 75cm . Had to cut the trailer about a bit to allow for the arc of the ram but nothing to drastic. Now run out of Mig wire. I will post some photos when I have it abit more together

4x4forks reacted to GAV694 in Gutbrod Potato Planter
So at long last the planters were delivered today, only had enough time to take them off the pallet and get a quick photo to show the drive wheel that turns the bit that drops the potatoes.

4x4forks reacted to meadowfield in If Stormin and Showman can do it... my first time ploughing
I've two mouldboard ploughs and only ever stuck them in the ground a few times, so on the back of Chris great pics - and Ewan wanting to plant potatoes....
Late sunday we hooked up Bendy and went over to the over side of the stream, it's rough grass that never gets animals on, mowed or ploughed.
The first pass went ok, I have to go deep to leave a furrow wide enough for a 12" wheel to fit It was hard going, too high a gear and the engine belt slips. So its a slowly and surely run - until we hit tree roots and rocks.
Here are the pics, enjoy

4x4forks reacted to the showman in The showman enters a Annual Ploughing Match
As some of you know I entered the 2016 Annual ploughing match.
The ground was wheat stubble and had large mose patches which made traction a problem up hill, anyway i had a go.
Not having done it before i entered the novice class and was shown to my spot which was twice as big as the horticultural section and the only ride on tractor in the class all the others were full size tractors.
Anyway we marked out and did my opening and then carried on and did the patch ( and we weren't last to finish) I learnt a lot throughout the day with lots of advice from friends and need to make a few alterations to the tractor.
Heres the photos and running list and results, i was very pleased and had a good day and I wasn't last which was a bonus.

10 out of 10 for your lad, he is correct it is the park brake although I havent ever been into a transmission so I dont know what it actually brakes.
Do you have the Gutbrod bug now Duncan?
Is it going to be another amazing restoration?
Cheers
John

4x4forks got a reaction from GAV694 in New Toy Gutbrod Rotovator
I Have received today my new toy from Germany . A rotovator for my Gutbrod 1032 .
This was all due to a very helpful MOM member John, without whom this would not of been possible.
Off the pallet and straight onto the tractor then try and find a dry bit of ground to give it a try.
Great bit of kit, No noises and very sound condition.
This was being drven in low gear but no reduction hubs. Still looking for them.
I will upload a bit of video when I can. (this is my son driving not me)
When will it stop raining????

4x4forks reacted to The Fife Plooman in New Toy Gutbrod Rotovator
Hi
The Gutbrod and rotovator is a nice piece of kit
If you are rotovatoring in earnest make a shallow pass then I usually rotovate half the width this is easier on the clutch until you get a set of hubs all the best

4x4forks got a reaction from Triumph66 in New Toy Gutbrod Rotovator
Ground is water loged everywhere but she had to be tryed on this little bit of mud. We did have a small go direct digging on grass and I was very impressed . It is not set very deep in the pictures but will post some pictures when we have a go in more appoprate conditions. Oh and 16hp seems to be tolaly ace with direct digging in wet ground and no reduction hubs
