  1. I almost cut them off but there's lots of room under those caps
  2. Had a go at changing the front wide wheels to narrow ones today. I found a pair of wheels at Johns with back plates and drums which im not using ( don't think the wheelhorse needs front brakes ) dont know what they were from but were painted a sort of air force blue. with a bit of machining in the lathe 2 sleeves were made and thick washers and a bit of drilling and tapping. heres how far ive got today.

  5. The other thing i did today is to start sorting my sight poles. I found some stainless thick wall 1" tube, cut it down to 5ft 6" and painted the first coat of red. it wont worp or go rusty

  8. Had the stick welder out today so i welded the bracket fixing thingy's up, width and height adjustable
  9. Got me Raider 12 back from Johns yesterday after its tour of duty at his place over the last few weeks. Decided to do a few jobs to it and the first thing was a front weight carrier made from some angle iron and an old mule drive so i can unclip it when not in use, i made it to take 2 weights but I think one will be enough. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
  10. That front axle looks mean with those tyres on, the rear axles are a pain to do its the worst bit of a rebuild

Had a bit of time on these making the fixing thingy's out of old bits of metal I've had layin about. 1/2" plate cut into squares and drilled and taped with 7/16" bsw holes with stainless bolts. 1/4" flat plate with 3/4" holes and 3' of 1"1/2" square box section. just need to get the stick welder out and weld it all together, here's a photo of the bits
  13. I'm busy next week and I've got to split the wheels and paint them yet, im also going to make a towbar for the back so no rush on the bearings. Not to mention sorting out the wood
  14. I brushed it on really thick Ian as the frame is quite pitted

  17. Looks a tidy bit of kit Mark, enjoy your off roading
  18. Core, those tyres look humongous can't wait to see some red stuff on it
  19. Hoping to spray it tomorrow, depends how windy it is
