Went to a stationery engine gas-up local to me today, apart from the  small engines there were a couple of big one's set up and running in the barn.
In the corner was a Kinkade garden tractor that took my eye never seen one before, had two steel wheels on the front with one having a Villiers engine inside it, it had a tool frame with all the kit, plough. tines, ridger ect.
there was even a couple of seeders hanging from the roof.

To follow up my plough conversion, here's the lift assembly needed. Firstly the beefy bar to run from the deck lift arm.

Then two bushes for the rocker shaft

Then a piece of 18mm bar for the shaft with the ends threaded to retain it. It all fits nicely with the fuel tank in place.

And the view from above with the link bar in place.

    And with the plough fitted.

    Welded from the outside..

And the inside.. A slight change of design with this one.. A lot less metal to grind flat in the middle

Hi Iain, it will have a split brake pedal, but split front/back rather than sides on the rear...

Thanks James, it's getting not as fast as I would like, but any progress is good progress..

Even though I have not posted anything about Why Not for a few weeks work has slowly been happening..

When I left off at the end of the last update I had just started making new wheel centers.. Like so

    Which eventually turned into this...

The raised bit is a nice tight fit in the center of the wheel which means the new wheel center is centralized in the center of the wheel

And from the outside it looks like this.. Please note the widened wheel rim was used for photographic purposes only and won't be going on Why Not..

Bolt holes drilled... The extra two holes were the result of me making a jig out of ally to drill the holes accurately....  The trouble with ally is it's rather soft to use as a jig and one of the new holes ended up a couple of mm's in the wrong place!

Time to break out the welder.. Lot's of tacks to stop it moving with heat..

Fully welded in..   A mixture of neat strong welds and not quite so neat but still strong welds

The blackish ring seen on the inside shows good heat penetration..

Next up was to remove the old wheel center...

Once it was cleaned up you could see the join between the new wheel center and the old metal, so I carefully ground out a V along the join and....

Back filled the V with plenty of weld

With the welds and the raised center carefully ground down to make it all smooth and level..

I could finally bolt a Wheel Horse wheel to a Reliant rear axle

Bought this the other week and haven't had chance to really look at it, how you see it is how I got it, the.only part I can see missing is the rear fender and seat. I think it's a 1980 B115.

It wasn't intentional Jeff, a friends son had it and stripped it down then lost interest, he just wanted out of his workshop,
It was delivered and the price was good , the other reason for posting was that I've got a new iPad and wanted to try out the camera and loading photos, very pleased with the ease and quality of the results

Slow day today, put the gauges back in this morning and went for a spin... Within 5 seconds the volt meter and rev counter stopped working the wires wrapped around the steering uj and ripped out of the back
So lost an hour there soldering them back in
Finally hooked up the choke linkage, then started on this

The battery isolator and fuse box panel.

    Hi Folks,

by God you've all been busy..
I'm shed building again.. sadly (??) things have not turned out well since we moved, so without going into detail, I'm moving out!!
Back to a cottage I was at about 12 years ago, farm cottage, on my own!! ( well, and my dog!) new office set up, which will exceed here by scores and, yes, another shed build..
Shed has started life now, got the carcass up & square.. I'm not getting any younger and believe me I know about doing this... but I love doing it...
After Christmas when all in, I'll get back to the forum a bit more if you'll still have me... Personal Life?? Huh! I don't need one!!
