Stormin 4,458 #1 Posted April 7, 2014 Below are some photo's of the traction engine built by my late father. It's an M.E. 1" scale traction engine designed by Henry Greenly and built by my father in 1946/47. My mother said it took him 18 months. Home from work, dinner then shed. I sometimes wonder how I got born. I haven't a clue how to run it and if memory serves, it hasn't run for 50 years. It will need pressure testing etc before it does. As to value? 7 meadowfield, wurzel, Darmic1 and 4 others reacted to this
Anglo Traction 1,016 #2 Posted April 7, 2014 Oh you've just brighten my afternoon Norm. Lovely little engine, especially when it was built by your Dad. Stormin 4,458 #3 Posted April 7, 2014 Thought you'd like it Richard. Thanks for the link. Pity I don't have the original drawings to go with it. I do have a note book somewhere with some of the prices. In real money.

paul 64 #6 Posted April 17, 2014 That's a great little engine. Worth a fortune to the right person but even more to you as sentimentle value. Paul
Stormin 4,458 #7 Posted April 17, 2014 Thing is Paul, I will eventually sell it, as to leave it to one of the sons-in-law or grandsons would cause a bit of family upset. It would be nice to see it running, but as said, it will need pressure testing first.
Stormin 4,458 #8 Posted February 3, 2015 This morning I was asked about the engine. Tonight it has found a new home, where I know it will be cared for and appreciated. 7 slf-uk, neil, ranger and 4 others reacted to this
rog8811 47 #9 Posted September 12, 2015 I was just perusing the site and came across this thread, an ideal place for another one of my machines. This was started when my son was a babe in arms, It was going to be a piddler....I couldn't bring myself to build it so simply. it grew like Topsy all scratch built made up as I went along. My son is now 30... the engine is nearly finished It has been steamed once and I towed myself along standing on a pallet truck:) 6 the showman, Alan, wurzel and 3 others reacted to this
