Howard Bolens Cylinder Mower Attachment
Ian and one other reacted to Triumph66 for a post in a topic
Just delivered this afternoon my latest attachment for one of my Bolens. It's a rear mounted attachment originally made by Horwool MFG Ltd in Essex for Bolens. It also came with a prop shaft as well. I am going to give it a good pressure wash this weekend and grease it up. It came from North Wales. -
2 pointsHi All I didn't get round to putting the engine on its new trolley over the weekend but managed to get the gib keys out and remove the flywheels. That took most of Saturday, problem is it gets dark quick now or is it that it gets later earlier. Here is some pics. Paul

Would be tempting to just watch - ................A friend of mine sent me this. Thought I'd share it, presume it's genuine?. -
1 pointThat's a fantastic find Andrew, you seem to have the knack of finding them Can't wait to see what you come up with next
-
1 pointAndrew, The biggest problem is that they are all stunning... Every time I sort out my storage it results in me having the space to buy another one. Iain

1 pointI have just found a couple of pictures of mine attached to one of my H16's. I am sure the tractor had two headlights before I started cutting... Iain

1 pointWell another name for them is finger bar.

1 pointLooks like the chap on the brochure feels the same.

1 pointFantastic addition to your growing collection. I would love one and I am very jealous. I believe they originally came with a large fibreglass grass collector. Until you mentioned the manufacturer I was under the impression they were made by the Bolens importer, Howard. The great thing about this forum is that you learn something new every day. I am amassed by the speed you are adding to your collection. Iain

large hole in thick steel help.
Anglo Traction reacted to ranger for a post in a topic
When I use a holesaw I change the pilot drill to a length of 1/4" silver steel, especially for thinner material, it keeps the holesaw running true otherwise the flutes in the drill cause the saw to run out of true. the correct drill for a holesaw has a flute length that ends before the saw starts cutting, but they have usually been replaced at some time or other doug. -

1 pointHere are several shots of the sickle mower that arrived this afternoon. It wa very well secured and well packaged. I took them in the dark so will get better ones in due course. It one of those things you have to buy quickly as these don't come up that often and I am pleased I didn't have to go through the uncertainty of eBay. Tomorrow I am collecting the 800 at long last.

Anglo Traction reacted to paul for a post in a topic
Hi All This is the last engine in the mentioned barn, a Lister CS 6/1. I thought the engine was seized but when drained about 3 litres of water out it turned over as you can see the bore dosent look to bad. Just got to free most the moving parts up now. Paul -
