    Yellow Mower Challenge!

Thanks Norm. i have a reason for delayed reply and final post on this Topic. I have to admit that I got Roly's location in the picture wrong. He's the Scallywag up in the Tree. His elder brother is with the Mower. Thank you Alan. Respect . Well. After long deliberation and some mild recent arm twisting, I have decided to part company with this Lovely machine and it now resides in the hands of the Curator/Museum of the South Downs Heritage Centre (3 miles away from where I was born). The original owner and family are more than happy to hear that it's gone to the new home for many to view 'In the Tin' so to speak. Thanks to all for the motivation/compliments to finish this one. So I close this off with an image of it in it's prime location- I'm told there is still more work on the information material to finish the display, but it certainly look's at home there. Regards.

Just back from a great day at the South Downs Heritage Centre in West Sussex for the Spring Meet and Greet. Many Thanks to those that turned up, it was a good and varied display. Here's some photos of what turned up and some of the Heritage Centres exhibits, starting with the all important group photos...

    A True Classic Transcends Time

Like some sports cars, and garden tractors, these airplanes have stood the test of time, a lot of time. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20160309-why-nasa-still-flies-an-old-british-bomber-design

Good example of design and reliability. Used the same engine as was fitted to the Hawker Hunter (Avon). Engine Starter System included Cartridge (Coffman) firing - same as these re-purposed, cut down memento examples from my Father's career-

Great pics Mark. Glad it's up there though. You could always start up a loan/swap system, as there must be loads of long redundant WH Snow Plough Blades down this way. You could call it 'Plough Share' .

I was not quite 2 yrs and probably chewing a Farley's Rusk when he broke the 4 minute mile. Certainly a popular achiever still when I was 9 or 10. R.I.P

I most certainly will be making a cover for the battery, it's in an ideal place to get covered in all sorts of mud and stuff.. While digging through the Quadzilla wiring loom for connectors to pilage I found something that would most certainly be a good upgrade.. So this small bracket was made.. It was welded onto the frame just under the seat. If you hadn't guessed it holds up a modern fuse block, much better than the oold Honda one With the 4 wheel drive bit wired in, the time had come to think about lights starting with the er.. headlamp.. Not having the correct bulb holder (which would of been for a really old style bulb anyway) I had this problem to overcome! I had an idea on how to solve the er..gap problem but not the materials until Nigel found me this old pully.. Thank mate No photo's of all the lathe stages (plenty of that in the next video) but the pulley ending up looking like this.. The shallow slots were done with a milling bit in my pillar drill. Not ideal as the bed does try to move sideways! The bulb pokes through like this. Then the whole thing drops into the back of the lamp bowl. The little black slot through the bowl is a handy bolt hole, as is the one the other side Now something to hold the bulb to the holder. Starting with this.. Thanks again Nigel It was turned into this.. Which of course fits here.. I found some nice small bolts to use but I didn't have a tap to cut a thread..... So I made one Best test it.. Yep it works... Lots of drilling, thread cutting and countersinking and bolt shortening later.. Tad-Daaa A lot of work for something that won't be seen
