Model T Ford , go cart

Here’s what I’ve been doing through the winter months , almost finished , just a few bit of timber work to do and then varnish the wood. Its a replica of a 1910 model t Ford , built in 1958 , although there are a few different modifications and Addons but it’s a work in progress . I lined the cab area with new leather seats and oak trims , added a brooklands windscreen and also some old brassware, Just in the process of making the cover for the Briggs & Stratton engine which will be disguised by the wooden box on the back .

A very hot day at Popham yesterday. Lots of visitors. Long queue to get in although it moved quickly. As the title says, lots of cars of all descriptions, plus aero - auto jumble. The previous two days were mainly a Microlight fly in and trade fair. Lots of visitors coming and going by air on all three days. A selection of photo's as we all know you like photo's. A nice Mini and matching trailer. Note the kettle Mr Showman. My son and his wife wondering if this truck would fit in their drive. A little smaller. A nice model bicycle. Compare the size against the hacksaw blades. A pair of flying machines. And finally, the highlight of the day for us. My grand daughter went to console a nearby crying boy. Both about the same age. Almost instantly they both wandered off, holding hands, in the direction of a parked plane. Both sets of mummy's and daddy's following. It turned out that Theo wanted to show Kamila HIS plane. His dad had flown into Popham for the day. Kamila and her new boy friend had lots of fun flying it while photo's were taken. Theo's daddy didn't seem bothered that buttons were pressed, levers pulled or pushed, switches switched, and the control columns yanked about. He probably had to do a major reboot before taking off.

Sorry they're a bit late but here's some photos from the display at May Open Day at the private Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway in deepest Kent... This is a private railway with its own collection of engines running on a line of about 3/4 of a mile of track through the woods with a station at each end, also a portable steam engine, tractors and a huge American Fire Truck. A nice chilled day out, next gathering there hopefully in September.
