It was fantastic to see Alan and Chris yesterday at John's, both are great company and it was worth the trip just for a catch-up, everything else was just a bonus. I popped in to see the other Chris (Bolens Chris as Joseph calls him) on the way home and collected a few other goodies. I am sure Chris and Alan said the tractor was another one of those red Bolens, honest I thought I was going to get away with driving the short distance to the van until I turned the corner and was faced with the Paparazzi clicking away with cameras. I stopped at services on the way home and send advanced apologies to the other Bolens boys but it didn't work as I was getting abusive messages most of the way home It was 1am by the time I had unloaded the van and getting the big trailer out on my own was an interesting experience. I am looking forward to restoring the big trailer and it will look good with the Ride-a-matic sitting back on it, however it will not be done for a while. Thanks for a great day Iain

He took the large trailer remains which he hopes to rebuild one day. Plus a few small goodies. Nothing of interest to find now ................. Unless !. Still lots of brambles to dig through.

I was going to say it look like a ripper for tearing up roots in the ground.

There was a lot of fishing gear, including a Seagull outboard motor plus spares and a folding three pronged anchor, at John's a few years ago. Acquired from a late friend of his. All sold on now. Don't remember seeing Chris's find before though.

Had another fun day at Johns today with Iain as he had to drive a Wheelhorse to get his stuff to his van.

I'll have to measure the base of my anvil. One of those may be just the job to mount it on.

Cut nine more slices off the old oak but its hard going and very heavy.

Looks like a home made ground anchor to me. Two possible uses. For mooring a boat in a tidal harbour or on a beach. Or for attaching a winch to, to pull a winch equipped vehicle. ie. Off road winch events.

I have got over the shock of it now. Did Iain get find anything else while he was there? You lads must surely be nearing the end of finding anything else there?

Iain was VERY reluctant. Thought it wouldn't go down well with the Bolen's boys being seen on a red tractor. He had to give in when told his only other option was to carry everything himself while Chris and I went for a cuppa.
