Due to unforeseen circumstances I'm regrettably going to have to part with my beloved little truck. Now only on 52k ( one of the reasons I'm selling it is lack of use). Before I let the vultures on ebay have a go I thought I'd give forum members first dibs. Will come with brand new mot, cambelt was changed only a few thousand ago and has lots of old mots to back up the almost unbelievable millage. 3 sets of alloys included along with the private number plate. I feel confident in saying this is one of the best examples left, and I'm 99% certain it's never had any paint work in its life.
After checking the forecast I got to the workshop just after 6am this morning to put the paint on the straightened top frame. There must be something in the nylon coating that causes a reaction with the top coat I using because even though I thought I'd removed it all I still got a slight lifting in places. Luckily most of it seems to be confined to where the decal will sit,so I should be able to do a localised touch up fairly easily.
Sorry if the photos come out upside down, due to having no internet at home till the news year( thanks a bunch EE) I've had to piggy back onto the works broadband using the iPad that allways seems to rotate pictures that I take.
The plan is so long as my entry gets accepted to take a small display of classic light plant from the late 1950's to 1980's to tractor world in February.
And here it is now that the restoration is almost finished.
It looks in very good condition for it's age
What size is the engine? It looks quite small!
It had been semi restored a few years ago, but stored badly. I believe the engine is about 75 cc two stroke,Ive had the engine fully rebuilt by an ex Wacker employee that I know.
They were originally a JLO engine that Wacker purchased the rights to.
Still has its original wire rope recoil, can a bit lethal if it kicks back.
Nice to see the maestro van, used to be every where but like a lot of things they all seem to of disappeared. Such a shame that austin never rust proofed them or seemingly anything else that they made.
Kara did her Cruciate Ligament in and it had to be repaired
Bethany (aka Rat)my Labrador had the same thing done when she was 3. The vet said that it may not last that long, however she is not far off 10 now and is still running round like a puppy. It's only on the coldest days that she has a very slight limp 99% of the time you'd never know. Hope your dog gets better soon.
You say you've tried 4 spark plugs, but have you tried a different make? I only ask because I had a box of ten new NGk plugs a few years ago that at least 6 turned out to be faulty. Nearly drove me daft as they would spark ok in the atmosphere but started to do strange things under compression.
Never heard of a trench rammer. Sounds interesting.
I'll take some more pictures when I get a bit further with it. They are basically used for compacting down back filled trenches etc. They can often be called by some politically incorrect names aswell ...
This one was made in an era when health and safety was very lax so will tend to shake you to pieces when being used.
