  1. Yes. Single and twin axle. But I'll be down a few days all being well and I don't fancy towing a trailer around all the time. Did think about hiring a van and taking all 3, but It would cost to much.
  2. I must see if the C-81 will fit in the Disco. If it will, I'll bring it down.
  3. By 'eck, Jonathan. We were only talking of that a few days ago. I do like the manhole cover/weld mesh idea. Proper job. I must remember to get a plastic barrel from the farm, to make a bigger one than my dustbin one.
  4. Welcome to MoM Paul. Some pile of bits you've got there. I second what Richard said. Photo's and a rebuild report, Please.
  5. 'Ow do, WeaPea. Welcome to MoM. You'll get plenty of helpful advice here from the Bolen boys.
  6. You must have to dust and polish that lot.

    C-120 refurb.

Did a bit more fettling today. Fitted a light return spring to the throttle linkage on the carb and got it running a bit sweeter.. Also a new battery clamp plus new clamps to the exhaust. Had a bit of a disappointment. The seal behind the drive pulley has a slight weep. New seal when I rebuilt the trans. I'll fit another when I remove the wheels for painting.
  8. Think yourself lucky. Wife away, bottle of wine, E-bay and my mate ended up with this.

Unfortunately Nigel, unlike your good self, I do not have the luxury of an assistant to operate a camera.
  11. Sorry to hear about your mother, Neil. Maybe see you next year if not this.
  12. Shame it turned out so wet. Most people just don't realise the work that goes into these shows. Never mind the expense. Hopefully I'll get over next year. Like the photo's.
  13. I agree with you about the Sierra, Paul. I've had three of those Cortina's, two saloons, (one a GT) and one estate. All 2ltrs. Also had a Sierra estate. Not a patch on the 'Tina's.

I was very relieved when it started up, Tom. Wheels will be black inside and silver outside.

Got all the wiring done today. Engine turned over, got good spark and front and rear lights worked. So chuck in some petrol and lets see what happens. Turned the key and engine spun freely, but did not fire. Removed tank to pump fuel line and petrol came through. Still wouldn't fire. Removed pump to carb pipe and sucked. Fuel came through. Ugh! Spit! Spit! Spit! Ok! Lets try again. Whir! Whir! Whir! Cough! Cough! And the Black Horse burst into life. BTW Tom. It's loud Well it is now, after blowing the mute out of the end of the inner pipe. Ok! Now let's see if it drives. Pushing it about after the trans' rebuild, it was not as free as the C-125. Things felt a little stiff. Into gear and out of the workshop we went. Forward and reverse working fine, in high and low. Back in the workshop and shut down. It's little journey seems to have freed the trans' off, as now it's just the same as the C-125 to move by hand. Next thing to do is get the wheels cleaned up and painted. Also a bit of exhaust re-designing. Don't worry! It'll still have the stack.
  16. Been thinking of doing the C-125s engine come winter. Runs ok but uses a bit of oil and smokes on starting. Also there's a trace of oil tween head and barrel. Hopefully just rings and head gasket will cure it.

    C-120 refurb.

Started to do the wiring today. First of, did a wiring diagram leaving off the things I don't need. Ie. Cut off switches. H&E bods keep quiet. Just as well I stripped the harness. Found a couple of wires, one a live, must have rubbed through at some time. A previous owner had just taped them up. Not very well either. They will be replaced.

Pity your down south or I'd have that.
  20. Good photo's Paul. The Cortina estate in the second brings back memories. The miniature traction engine with saw bench etc is a great little display.
