All the Best, Koen. Have a good day.
-
It was made by The Showman. Surplus to requirements as he fell heir to an engine crane. So it found it's way North.
-
Wheel Horse, like most American things use AF or UNC threads. Some spanners etc do fit some AF and metric bolts.
-
A bit more done this morning.
Engine had been left for the oil to drain. Before it could be lifted off, petrol was drained and fuel line removed. Also fuel tank. Then foot plates and tin ware off the sides.
Engine lifted off.
The anti vibration plate was removed next and the engine left on the gantry and wheeled to one side. I'll see to the rest of the tractor before I tackle that.
As usual the pin holding the steering wheel refused to budge. So the top half of the tower was removed along with wheel and instrument panel. Who's bright idea it was to rivet the control levers on I don't know. But he could do with a swift kick up the b******e.
Not sure how far I want to go with the strip down yet. A good pressure wash is next, then I'll get it on the bench.

We've one of those in our garden, Richard. All it's leaves have fallen now. I keep it trimmed to 6ft.
-
-
Looks good, Chris. Now all you need is snow.
-
Certainly a good turn out, Dave. Thanks for the photo's.

My C-125 have done stirling work since I got it about 7 years ago. Mowing the green and verges where I live and towing trailer loads of wood. The only things I have done to it, is to replace the head gasket a couple of years back, a stack exhaust and recently AG rear tyres. It does use some oil though. Having to top it up after a couple of hours running.
This how she looked when purchased. There is a rear discharge deck that I had to rebuild in the first year of ownership. You can see it to the right of the workshop doors.
For some time I've been saying I'll give it a good going over. Having acquired some engine parts of Richard (Anglo Traction), I thought I'd better make a start ready for next season. It won't be a show room job, so don't expect one. Bit pointless when it's a worker, but an engine rebuild and a tidy up. Plus anything else I find needs doing..
So today the strip down began.
Bonnet/hood removed. Wiring to the engine disconnected along with cables and seat plus fender.
-
"I need more room", he says. "I'll have to sell some stuff", he says.
-
I had to put a new top on my rear discharge deck some years back. Contemplating making a new shell for the side discharge I have.
-
Can't really tell the condition of the crank from the photo. Is it badly scored? If lightly mark it may polish up.
-
-
I think the tractor needs some TLC now, to match the seat cover.
-
It's only 80 miles further than when I go south.
-
So that puts Ewan's Executive model pre '65. What hp is the engine, Ewan? Does it still have an ID plate? Maybe you can date it off the engine number?
-
Tractor World Scotland. 23-24 March 2019. Royal Highland Centre, Islington, Edinburgh.
Who's planning to go?
-
Very nice. I've always liked the DB's. You'd be lucky to get one in that condition over here.
-
What's the machine in the last photo outside the door?
-
Not much wrong with that.
-
That's your Christmas break sorted then.
-
Well done, Ewan. Looks in reasonable condition. Shouldn't take to much work to tidy up.
-
Check the depths of the holes with a screw driver, pen or similar. The deepest hole will be for the longest bolt usually.
-
Welcome to MoM. Can you post some photo's? That would help to maybe answer your question.
-
And powered tracked trailer. Be interesting to see how it's steered.
