I've already said I'd altered the tool bar as in photo below.
Today I rigged up a way to put a bit more weight on the plough. Dumb bar weights and a big piece of threaded bar.
I'm going to try with just two of the heavier weights, then may add the two lighter ones.

I'm beginning to think there could be more than I remember. Should have made a list.
-
You'll not get those square lumps in your stove, or through you saw, Chris. Best bring it up to Newby Hall for me.
-
Look even bigger in the flesh metal.
-
I like it. Does it run? I've some 2stroke ready mixed. Dunc and I will be over tomorrow. Let me know a time.

Couple of photo's of them fitted.
I did have to do a slight mod. When I fitted the studs to go through the wheels, I used a standard wheel as a jig. I've narrowed the wheels haven't I. Consequently the studs were to long. Cut 1-3/4" off them then fitted the weights using nyloc nuts.

Been setting out today ready for next weekend. 6 plots set aside for horticultural machines. 5 entries received, so one plot spare. Any takers?
-
Can't wait for the photo's of you driving it.

I'd scrap them and keep anything MG2, Jonathan. Then donate the rollers to a good cause. Me!
-
Got them finished painted.
That's it for now, but I do have a future mod in mind. Covers for the outside to tidy things up.
-
When I read Bobcat, that wasn't quite what I had in mind.
-
Get the engine number etc of it and post on here

Here you are. Just for you.
Primed with red oxide.

Handy things those wacker's. I picked one up years ago.

Already got the lead, Richard. Came off some outbuildings a friend demolished.
Did a bit of thinking today, about stopping the lead from falling out. Simple solution. Change the bolts fastening pulley to disc/drum for longer ones and fitted opposite way round. A good inch of thread was left showing inside the drum.
Next job was to take weights and lead up to the farm and use the oxy/acet equipment to melt the lead. I had only enough lead to half fill each drum. That was ample for the molten lead to flow round the threads of the bolts. So the cooled lead was now held securely in the drum.
Back home and weighed the weights again. Now one weighs 31lb and 'tother 32lb. Not bad considering I didn't weigh the lead first.
The lead surface was rough and needed hiding. So two 8-1/8 blank discs were cut from a couple of plastic feed tub lids brought back from the farm. In each drum two opposing bolt threads protrude from the lead. The discs were then drilled and fitted over the two protruding bolts and held in place with a couple of nuts.
Painting is now in progress.
BTW Richard. The weights will be secured to the wheels, with nyloc nuts on the studs.

Thought it had been done with Owatrol. Should have known he'd not want to spend any money on it.
-
Got a match at Brisco, Carlisle end of the month. Hope it stays dry.
-
-
Bit of progress today. All bolted together and studs fitted to fasten to the wheels.
And they fit. Gap at the top is because no nuts are fitted at the back.
They each weigh about 25lb. Next job is to add more weight.

It was his soaked in oil comment that made me think foam, Richard. Anyway, it'll be one or 'tother.
-
-
The air filter is foam and can be cleaned. It sounds as if it is in need of it. Wash it in hot soapy water, allow to dry. Apply some engine oil to it then squeeze out the surplus.

Probally gone to pastures new long ago. The tractor I mean. We know Rod did.
