Vinnetrow reacted to Stormin in Project: 'TBD'
That's brilliant. One thing though. I can't see clutch or brake pedals. Or am I missing something?

Vinnetrow got a reaction from Ian in Project: 'TBD'
The worst part. Decided to go for a lacquered bare metal finish because, well, it's easy and big fans of the rusty/patina look!
Final product.
Video soon. Hopefully.

Vinnetrow reacted to nigel in the new project handy landy
managed to get back on this project after finishing the kubota, after making the bonnet it dawned on me that i could not fill the radiator up cos the nose cone was in the way,and i couldnt make a hole for tha rad cap cos it came halfway across the bulge on the nose, so i welded the bonnet to the nose and made a big hinge, why i was at it i cut up an old rotosythe grass box and used the louvers from it to extend the body the reason i have done this is cos the engine looks so small in the space and needed closing in a bit
found a model to hold a bit of metal

Vinnetrow reacted to Ian in Project "Why Not"
Evening all, the tale of Why Not's chassis continues with some more metal being added on Monday..
The front of the engine cradle had some mounts welded on, the small holes need to be drilled out a bit so I can weld some crush tube in, then they will be ready for bolts.
A couple of diagonal strengtheners.
This small bit of box will be the front body tub mounts.
I think the chassis is starting to look quite good now
Which has got me around to thinking that's it's about time I got the axle narrowing finished and narrowed the axles...
Which is why I spent a lot of today getting my lathe all bolted down and up and running
Cutting/cooling fluid is pumped from this Ford screen washer bottle as it has been for years..
But this time the pump is powered by a model railway controller thingy, ideal for changing the speed of the flow
If all goes to plan tomorrow I might even get both axles done....
But to tide you over here's my latest "Why Not" video..

Vinnetrow reacted to howardman in Auto culto Autogardener Restoration
This project was laying in the back of the shed for 5 years , but when I sourced the correct engine (villiers mark 15 OHV) last year finally made a start. It was quiet a mess , but came with a plough, Discs, and large ridge plough, Tool frame and i also bought a Rotavator attachment separately 2 years ago.
It was very oily ..so first job was dismantle and spray with "oil eater"
it was messy to dismantle with oil everywhere from a leaking gearbox (worn bronze wheel bushings)
Here is the new bronze wheel bush fitted..the old worn ones caused the wheels to wobble!!
The gearbox fell off the bench ..cast iron is not strong !! big setback. But welded okay
Its chain drive so gearbox needs to be oil tight
Better view of welding repair
Its drive gearbox (upper) is an albion with a reverse..this was seized but managed to free it up. Filled with non ep gear oil..as it has bronze phosphorus components
Finally got to priming after shot blasting most parts (paint was very tough possibly contained lead)
Finished in John Deere Yellow missing from pic is heavy front weight.
. Engine is great ..good starter and burns clean. Now must start on all the attachments

Vinnetrow reacted to Ian in Project "Why Not"
Looking good, not much WH left now
Thanks Iain, there's even less Wh left now!
Yesterday was the day the last bit of the original Wh chassis was removed..
The new chassis certainly looks cleaner without the old rails inside
The front end is starting to take shape. The big box across the front will become the new front axle after it has had a change of shape, some strengthening and something added to give it a real Hot rod look
Oh... And I found a spare plug yesterday

Vinnetrow reacted to Ian in The Workshop moving Thread
It does indeed
Hi Andrew, we did think about using the grinder but as the door was closed making it hard to get a power cable out there..
I'm not sure which is the worse word.. Restoration or Bolens
Very much so Norm
Hi Iain, it was not so much an electronic tag, more of a Kubota wing indicator... Handy if we loose the Lord in the dark you see
Very good Chris
For your viewing pleasure here;s the first video from the new workshop.

Aaww.. Don't cry Chris
Hi Andrew, I have started recording life at the new shack, maybe a video about it at the end of the week.. Nope the music is not Metallica, it's called "Slow night at the saloon" found here.. http://teknoaxe.com/Home.php
Yeah it is a bit sad Mark, but long term more than worth it..
Very true Paul, better than it being scrapped... The buyer is going to send me some photo's when he get's it put back together, though something tells me it won't be going up in quite the same way it came apart..
Thanks Iain
More progress today in the workshop..
Some tools and decoration up..
The shelves will be moved to somewhere a little easier to reach, low bench for the blasting cabinet which put's it at a nice height to use, and some more decoration up..
Lot's more shelves filled up with random stuff and Wheel Horse parts..
And finally some more decoration.. It just needs a plug putting on to make it light up... A big thank you to Ben for this.. Cheers mate

Vinnetrow reacted to meadowfield in Raider 16 4x4 articulated -aka project bendy
Despite wanting to play, I have found time to make some fenders from scrap pieces of Ian's 6x6...
With a patch welded in
Ground flat and e tanked
Primed and in place
I made some brackets too, but forgot to take a picture. I've ordered some lights too

Vinnetrow reacted to meadowfield in Working in the woods
Decided on a bit of a tidy up today, so put the horses to work in the woods moving a few tons of stone.
Some pieces were pretty big and required special treatment....project bendy handled it with ease
Here's a few pics and a video...
