Will-Haggle got a reaction from Triumph66 in Yesterday's Farming Show, Puckington, Somerset...
In spite of the dire warnings of gales and rain I set off with car and trailer to Puckington, expecting to be towed through the gate. But no problem, the ground was hard ad dry! Set up tent next to Charlie Moore and Breeze and I got our heads down. Windy and drizzle on Saturday but all tents survived....

Will-Haggle got a reaction from ranger in DIGGER DAY
When I was working in the Mendip Mower Co., in 1962 we had a contract to do all Wiltshire County Council's mowers and tractors. I reckon Norman Currel and I did hundreds of those Ransomes Gang mowers. We stripped, cleaned, sharpened and repainted them, we replaced the cylinder blades where necessary. Gear oil was SAE 140 we nearly had to put it in with a spoon it was so cold! They used them in threes, some had steel wheels, some had pneumatic tyres. We also had a number of big Dennis Mowers and 3 Trusty Steeds.

Will-Haggle reacted to C-101plowerpower in Mower i HAVE to repair
As the title says i HAVE to repair this thing for my boss. I've tried to Tell him it isnt worth The time and money. But je keeps telling me this is(was) a really good mower and it even has a new blade. Well here are some pics, you be the judge, would you repair it or throw it out?
Said "New blade"
Yes, real quality right there, almost cut myself on that
Doesnt at all look homemade
I can imagine there's going to be some foul language getting this thing apart
Getting the bolt through the hole in the blade was like throwing a sausage through a garage door, no wonder it vibrated like hell
Results of said vibrations
And the State of the deck
I forsee a lot of cussing and yelling, maybe even flying tools

Will-Haggle reacted to Rocboni in Ransomes Sand Skimming Tractor
Thought I better start my own thread regarding the Skimmer.
Skimmer SN is 15200 which makes manufacture around about 1965, traced reg number through DVLA hasent revealed much.
Main aim is to get it mechanically operational, needs some new steel welding in, mainly sheet metal parts on the top frame where seat is, and engine changed to original Ransomes 600cc.
Good thing is it is all there, front auger and conveyor drive roller is free.
Its not done much since it was retired as still full of sand, needs a good power wash to flush it all out of engine bay.
First job is to free tracks up, get engine off and free up the controls and gear lever. I will get cracking next week but progress is likely to be slow as its being stored 25 miles away while I get the new workshop up.

Will-Haggle reacted to pmackellow in Allen Walkover Sprayer
Before the Smallholders Show I had been offered a smaller version of the above (12"Gardener model, see brochure above) , this was duly delivered on the Saturday of the show.
I've been cleaning it up and laying some paint on it today, it looks a bit tidier and will compliment the other one , its about the same age so early 90's
