Folks, I have had a severe ear bending from The Showman!! and rightfully so, I apologise for not sending my replies of thanks to all that have wished me another year older, as young as I am that is, so.. THANK YOU all that wished me birthday wishes!! Somehow with all the moving & disturbance of moving house/works has kept me so busy with my work and with hammers, nails ( I mean dovetails) , shovels and timber purchasing, that I haven't really had a lot of time to get to here.. again I apologise. I do look in a fair bit, just to keep myself updated, but I shall concentrate & contribute a bit more from now on.. I have been told by that by my good friend The Showman. Neil, I dread to think what it must be like for you & family, we have elongated floods along either end of our lane, and an enormous pool across our lawns spreading towards the house, but it is NOTHING in comparison to your circumstances. Your quote from the Telegraph paper is nationally accurate, we have had the same troubles for 25 years+ relating to ditch cleaning.. and they all literally 'connect' Ditch - Stream - River - Sea. Dredging from the sea inland is the only way to release this water, and in your case at below sea level, there should be the runaways purposely built as well as the ditches to take that water away. There's a certain Led Zeppelin track here that we can relate to I'm sure.......... but we don't want it to happen... Neil, here's to hoping you & surrounding folk and landowners with livestock can ride this out, safely... Titch

Have you tried using an old hair drier or a heat gun to warm up the old decals, this will help soften the adhesive on the back. Any residue left you can clean off with meths/thinners or petrol... How big are the new ones and what are they Neil?? Some people like to use a slightly soapy water mix to help get them in position.... Titch

That's the way to do it!! I own a considerable amount of domains for that very reason..Google Searches does the rest. For here, Old Machine will get you there in no time at all, you wait & see! Titch

At one time, I think it was generally considered that a .com for us in UK was an abroad domain, not just the USA, anywhere abroad in the WORLD In fact, often when searching on Google for example, I would avoid a .com at one time..... However, .coms are considered to be 'easier & quicker' to type in & search therefore far better, a .com commands a higher price for the domain too of course. I don't think these days it would matter at all, BUT, if you had the .co.uk as well as .com after my old machine, the searches could be linked, no one would know if it ended up on myoldmachine .com or whatever... but it would certainly attract more searches getting to the site... but, at a price of course.. unless of course you hold the domain already..... But to me, yes, .com is perfectly useable. Like your thinking Karl. Titch

Snow?? It only looks nice on Christmas cards in my book!! I'll find some pictures later where it drifted over the top of our single track lane and froze!! In places it was like driving through a tunnel!! That was a -16 recorded 2 years ago.. to me, that WAS cold!
