Stormin 4,458 #26 Posted December 3, 2015 Gas bottle on it's side, flat plate welded on. Big enough for kettle and frying pan. 1 moogie reacted to this

moogie 372 #32 Posted December 14, 2015 Managed to find enough motivation today to make my way out to the workshop. Preheated the room and managed to get a coat on the floor which dried fairly quickly. For the next part i had to call in my father to give me a hand to cut in the walls and floor so i could concentrate on rolling on the paint before it started to go off as it was two pack. Still another coat to go on the walls tomorrow hopefully, and then a red band to break up the blue and white. 11 nigel, HeadExam, the showman and 8 others reacted to this

Ian 2,417 #39 Posted December 15, 2015 It looks very good Noel, though the height of the blue up the walls does make it look kinda like a swimming pool
moogie 372 #40 Posted December 16, 2015 Got the last coat of paint on the walls and floor last night, opened up the workshop this morning to find this. Absolutely gutted, all my hard work and money for nothing it must have been too cold and damp last night and has caused the paint to bloom. Dont think there is anything i can do with it other than get another gallon of paint at £40 and give it another coat.
Chris 642 #41 Posted December 16, 2015 Need to get a space heater going once you have finished. Looks like an empty swimming pool
Triumph66 1,256 #42 Posted December 16, 2015 Great progress and as Chris said, a heater will sort out the paint from blooming.
moogie 372 #43 Posted December 21, 2015 Thats much better now, turns out it was a bad batch of paint that was causing all the problems. 2 S1g and Triumph66 reacted to this

meadowfield 1,900 #46 Posted December 21, 2015 Wow that's awesome, maybe I should paint my floor!
Stormin 4,458 #47 Posted December 21, 2015 Painting the floor is a good idea, Mark. Paint helps keep it cleaner. Split oil/drips are easy to clean up and when sweeping little dust.
moogie 372 #48 Posted December 21, 2015 Wow that's awesome, maybe I should paint my floor! You need to make sure your floor is oil free or the paint wont stick to it, also, if the floor has been power floated to a smooth finish you will need to scrabble it to allow the paint to key. If your new to painting floors, remember to thin the first coat quite a bit to allow it to soak into the concrete. Should be the consistency of full fat milk. If its standard floor paint you will use white spirit, if its two pack use cellulose thinners. 1 Joe the small engine man reacted to this
HeadExam 1,783 #49 Posted December 22, 2015 Looks like moisture got into it. I have to say, even with the set back, you are doing a great job at a incredible pace, good job!
moogie 372 #50 Posted December 23, 2015 Got a start made on a new work bench today. Three inch angle iron for legs and three building planks. Had to scribe the first plank to the wall as it was a bit wobbly. Still need to get some 2mm sheet folded up to go on top of the planks, make a shelf for underneath and mount the vice. 7 Joe the small engine man, Alan, Triumph66 and 4 others reacted to this
