dubscum 38 #1 Posted January 31, 2016 hello, Ive stumbled across this wonderful forum for like minded folk. I recently picked this up, Its not running but looks complete other then a starter motor. And a perished rear tyre due to it been stood on it flat. It has a diesel 10 hp lombardini engine and i think its 1970's and thats about all I know about it, My plan it to get it started. paint the wheels, maybe replace the tyres with more tractor like tyres and use it. the first thing i found out about it was how heavy it is, I collected it on my own from someones back garden, had to get it down a alley with 90 degree bend, i had to lift and bounce it round, I think it was worth it. any info would be nice thanks Ash 9 Alan, OldBuzzard, minky and 6 others reacted to this
neil 524 #2 Posted January 31, 2016 Welcome to MOM Ash, not sure if I'm the only one here that didn't know that Ferrari made garden tractors . It looks a nice machine . You can now ask all the beautiful chicks if they want to go for a ride in your Ferrari . 3 Joe the small engine man, dubscum and Triumph66 reacted to this

dubscum 38 #10 Posted January 31, 2016 i like it here I've just been having a good old nose about your threads !!! little hijack of my one thread with a few previous build and a bit of back ground. (I'm a picture whore sorry) i like anything old and thats moves. As a family we go to a few locals show I like to start them young, this is my son ..... growing fast when my old past, i wouldn't part with his mobility scooter so we did this, he smokes about on it. then i bought him this for his 4th birthday hahah a tad premature, So i got put away for a bit he's now old enough to drive it around. But i need to weld an extension bar on the clutch. he just puts it in gear and pulls it out to stop this is my toy anyway enough time wasting I'm gonna bring the Ferrari from the barn to my garage t work on it, you have inspired me. it has 28 x 9.00 - 15 turf tyres on. I'm thinking 5.00-15 6 Ply BKT AS504 Open Centre Dumper Tyre, they'll fit right ? 1 Alan reacted to this

dubscum 38 #20 Posted March 6, 2016 didn't realise the rears tyres are tubeless. took the flat tyre (wheel) off to have a look and the valve came off in my hand, I bought a new valve and my mate (with a tyre machine) unbeaded the tyre and put the new value in, but couldn't get the bead to sit after and had to fill it with cheap hair spray and light it. Problem solved, I fitted the starter motor that came with it, and the pinion is too small, it turns the engine but then slips, Anyone know what size (starter motor) pinion i need for a Lombadini 510 ? or shall i just stop being tight and buy the correct starter motor ? plans are wheels off shot blasted and powder coated cream. Proper tractor style exhaust, and tractor style tyres. leave the patina paint and maybe a loader, for now get it running and have a working rolling project. 2 nigel and Triumph66 reacted to this

dubscum 38 #22 Posted March 6, 2016 haha it would have more room in your garage. Put a battery on i had in the garage, the light and starter work but not the indicators, i had a look in the fuse box and the indicator fuse was missing, so i put one in and it started turning the starter motor, I took the fuse back out 1 nigel reacted to this

dubscum 38 #24 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) With the lombardini 510 being a old engine I've struggled to find the correct starter motor. But after a few emails to a very helpful staff member at lombardini I think I've found it. £230 is more then I wanted to pay but I can't find another. quick game of spot the difference http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u559/dubscuminit/4C7D5273-27C0-4EFA-B10B-DF97A259E474_zpsd6fbrxdq.jpg[/IMG] http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u559/dubscuminit/F22F0A74-1072-4156-A062-8E9846079E0A_zps7thkil1p.jpg[/IMG] http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u559/dubscuminit/6193DECA-34EC-49C8-B80D-A8A88143C165_zpswpai2jov.jpg[/IMG] http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u559/dubscuminit/9F5A64B7-CB40-4515-8444-32FA16F278E7_zpsaraw5x92.jpg[/IMG] then added the anti theft device http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u559/dubscuminit/D7E7C4F1-0A02-479A-8C60-271F6303A082_zpsju8k9nlt.jpg[/IMG] all without waking Derrick up .......oh and this happened http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u559/dubscuminit/3B2FA639-881C-437F-AB6E-C8EBE17CAE01_zpsvzilmhg8.jpg[/IMG] widest I could find were 7.5 (@ 15) the turf tyres on are 9 wide. I've had plenty of stretched tyres on banded steels but not a tractor Edited April 3, 2016 by dubscum Wrong photo links
