the showman 4,074 #1 Posted November 1, 2019 Dug this out from the storage shed and thought it would make a little winter project, I’ve got another one somewhere in bits so more rummaging when time permits. A little challenge to build the pair together for next year’s shows. 12 Ian, 4x4forks, Triumph66 and 9 others reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #2 Posted November 1, 2019 As its been raining most of the day I had some time in the shed and found some parts. The red one checks out as 1968 and I’ve had it since 2014 and the blue one is 1969 think i bought that in 2007/8 5 Triumph66, Ian, Alan and 2 others reacted to this

Triumph66 1,256 #8 Posted November 3, 2019 I always prefer the Round Hood Wheel Horses. It will be great to see these next year at a show Chris. 1 the showman reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #9 Posted November 4, 2019 .As I couldn’t find the original chassis ( must have used it on something else) I’ve had to use a later type. Ive 5 chassis’s hanging in the store all the same and are 5 inches longer than the Ranger and the front axle mount is different so a bit of head scratching and a cuppa out came the chop saw. 6 Stormin, Ian, Alan and 3 others reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #10 Posted November 5, 2019 Got a bit done this afternoon, what a task to get the axle mounts out of a chassis lots of sawing and grinding. All done now, at least I’ve got 2 chassis’s the same length with the same mounts. 8 Stormin, nigel, pmackellow and 5 others reacted to this

the showman 4,074 #12 Posted November 10, 2019 Managed a bit of time in the shed today, first job to find a 3 speed transmission luckily the first one i came across was a good one, all free and everything’s turning as it should even has the hubs on’ The towbar pin is rusted in as usual so that will need a little attention. 6 Stormin, nigel, Triumph66 and 3 others reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #13 Posted November 11, 2019 Been messing around with the front end and would like your comments please. Im not a lover of the 4 inch wheels so want to swop them for 8 inch but I’ve enough stuff to make two trikes, if i fit the 8 inch wheels I’m going to use the original narrow front axle, the trike setup looks a bit high but will be 4 inches lower when fitted. So what do you all think ?. 4 Ian, WestwoodW8Gazelle, pmackellow and 1 other reacted to this
Stormin 4,458 #14 Posted November 11, 2019 I kind of like the look of the small wheel.
the showman 4,074 #15 Posted November 11, 2019 I think you’d change your mind when they’re painted white and fitted with tri-ribs

Alan 1,273 #17 Posted November 11, 2019 The single wheel with a wide tyre / tire for me. Different to the usual Rowcrop twins. Depends whats going on the rear though. Wouldn't be identical but maybe one of each. Edit. Add the pedal tractor and have triplets. 2 Stormin and the showman reacted to this
pmackellow 2,738 #18 Posted November 12, 2019 Just to be awkward why not do one as a tricycle and one four wheeler ? 8 inch wheels on both You'll still have a display set with the Rowcrop and the Triang plus a conventional one 1 the showman reacted to this
Ian 2,417 #19 Posted November 14, 2019 Those two should keep you busy for a while Chris I'm with Paul.. Why not build a tricycle and a 8" 4 wheeler.... Like you I'm not keen on the original very small wheels.. 2 the showman and pmackellow reacted to this

the showman 4,074 #21 Posted November 16, 2019 Looking at the chassis this afternoon and noticed a few differences, The 3/4 rod that holds the pedals is 3 inches short, the idler pulley bracket is at the wrong angle, the small flat plate that rubs on the belt is wrong, the tags that hold the belt cover on are in the wrong place and holes in the wrong place I think I’ve sorted now, I’m not putting the bendy bit on the pedal bar as i think its for the drive belt to the deck and I’ve only got one deck.If you look at the photos you can see what I’ve done. 6 pmackellow, Alan, nigel and 3 others reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #22 Posted November 23, 2019 Got the chassis’s back last night (Friday) after sand blasting so today ive cleaned them up and got one of the front axles mounted and all primed 5 Joseph, Alan, nigel and 2 others reacted to this

the showman 4,074 #25 Posted November 25, 2019 Thought I’d have a look at one of the transmissions. First job was to cut off the tow hitch and drill out the 3/4 pin as it was rusted solid. The brake lining was missing and the band is gonna need replacing once I got the brake pulley off i found the lining. The hubs were solid as well, I managed to get one off with a puller but the second one wasn’t gonna move although I soaked it and heated it up it broke ! 4 2 pmackellow, Joseph, Alan and 3 others reacted to this
