I am delighted that it went to a fellow enthusiast and I'm sure Darren is gonna enjoy her, I only wished I had time to spend on giving the 856 the TLC that she deserves . This tractor is very rare here in UK as I only know of 3 others , I'm sure there must be more out there but still they are are rare find. She needs a little tinkering & a good cleaning to get her going but when she was is running she was a strong & quick tractor . I was quite reluctant to let her go but I had just bought a new to me Pick up and so needed some fund to recuperate , but I am delighted that someone will enjoy the 856 as much as I did. well you guys are welcome to drop in... you could certainly kill a few hours, I can set up a ploughing area though you might need to fix yours heres a few pics too

Found a small plough in the shed so spent the afternoon cleaning and freeing off all the bolts, turned the frame upside down so hopefully i can make it fit one of my roundhoods

Must admit, you make a superb job of them.

Went to the unit early this morning and fitted the engine into the chasis, it was very tricky to get a spanner in to tighten up some of the nuts on the mounts. I dug out another new old stock radiator, this came with a job lot of JCB parts, but as luck would have they are identical. The metal pipes were rubbed down then sprayed in gold, due to light the photos make it appear darker than it really is. Finally today I started rubbing the filler on the fuel tank down. Will probably need a few more layers before its ready for paint.

I used an acid alloy wheel cleaner, then a powerful(bores through Tarmac) hot pressure washer, followed up with an etch areosole aluminium finish paint, looks almost identical to original and seems to withstand the temperature of the engine running.
