    Ransomes Sand Skimming Tractor

Another complete Skimmer has turned up, there is a guy selling a dumper on Ebay today and on the photos there is a skimmer in the background, I contacted him and he confirmed it is a skimmer and will be for sale, I suggested he sell them together as a working pair.

Home Built Wheel Horse 654/ 704

i was in the same situation as you Ewan , I wanted to have a round hood but they were rarer than hens teeth here in UK so I desided to build my own using the frame from my old commando 8 shown below , I had a hood stand ,fuel tank and other parts shipped over from US but most of the parts you have will already work for what you are trying to do . sadly I never got round to finishing the round hood and is now in bits in my work shop , Mabe one day I will get round to finishing it. good luck with your project

    Cub Cadet 70 restoration

I got mine at an auction, it was used a couple of times for demonstration, but virtually new. I paid 100 for it with the saw head attachment. I was worried that I might have overpaid, but I think they go for twice that or more around here. I had a Redmax that lasted 14 years with no repairs, so I'm hoping this one will serve me as well. I'll probably look into switching the string head out. Thanks for the input. The Cub seat looks fantastic, be wary they do fade even indoors.

    Cub Cadet 70 restoration

Hi Alain, its the same model, we've had it for a couple of years and personally I think they work great, take a little bit of effort to refill with the trimmer wire but all round a great tool.

What model Stihl trimmer is that behind the Cub? Just wondering I just bought a FS70r and haven't had a chance to use it, wondering how well they worked?

    Ransomes mg2 pto question.

Hi Joe As the pto on MG2 is very rarely used I have never had to change bearings or seals on any of mine. I have had a look at the parts book and the cog is keyed on to the tapered shaft so will need pulled off. I think the engagement dog is pushed through the seal and bearing from the inside so clean off all the paint etc and push it back through. Hope that helps.
