Just finished this there was a lot of bits missing and it was in a terrible state when I bought it , I have put a clutch on it so it’s now press and go ,made the gearing for 6 mph flat out thanks to twitch for decals, and Angus for the engine.

    Ohlsson & Rice Type 115

Hello All, I’m brand new to the forum and also new to the older Ohlsson & Rice engines. I’ve been working on various small engines including Briggs model size from the 1930s-50s so I’m in new territory here. I understand through some researching that there are some experts here in the forum and I’m hoping to get some advice. I recently acquired my first Ohlsson & Rice engine, actually still waiting for delivery. It’s a basic Type 115 engine and doesn’t have a gas tank or anything else. It’s also got a carburetor that looks a bit different from most that I’ve seen during my initial research. The top of the carb is completely flat with no spring loaded button on top or other holes on top. I’m anticipating it will need to be completely disassembled and cleaned and the diaphragm replaced. First question is does anyone here still make a replacement diaphragm or know of a suitable mateial I could purchase to make my own? Second question is, what is the recommended spark plug for these engines? Mine is coming without one and of course no other documentation to reference. I look forward to your expert opinions and to learning from all of you that are much more knowledgeable on these cool old engines. I’ll try to post a couple photos after it arrives.

    Ohlsson & Rice Type 115

From your description it sounds exactly the same as the Type 115 engine I have in my collection (pictures below), earlier style carb (no primer button), no tank, also no clue as to the original use. Assuming it hasn't already been done, it will likely need a carb clean & rebuild, Webhead or Wallfish on here have new diaphragms for these, the original crumbly air filter foam should be removed/replaced too. The original spark plug would have been a Champion UY6, if the cylinder has 10mm plug thread. Later engines used a 14mm thread spark plug. David

    C-125 Rebuild.

Three coats of top coat on fender and footplates. Also some skateboard grippy applied to the footplates. Footplates mounted on the tractor. Remembered to put the drive belt on, so I don't have to take things off again to fit it. Got the seat base and brackets primed. Split pins in the seat plate suspension bits are rusted in solid. Had to snap the ends off to get the parts out. One spring escaped to hide somewhere in the workshop. I know there's a bit of difference in the paint colours, but I couldn't get spray cans in exact match. But two tone's good.

    C-125 Rebuild.

In between putting up Christmas lights, I managed to get a bit of painting done. Three coats of primer on footplates, drive belt guard and fender. The footplate on the right is going to get a touch of filler. I should have done it in the first place. Into the kitchen to fully dry overnight. Hopefully get the top coats on tomorrow.
