Look what i found in the garden

Pam was out doing a bit of gardening today and I went over to make sure she didn't get eaten by a triffid (wishful thinking ) and look what I found I remember the spade thingy, we use to see if anyone could use it when we came in from the pub, I always fell over with it

    a question for the moderators?

Questions about the forum or it's functioning can never rock the boat. I'm here to help you take full advantage of the forum and if something isn't working help get it resolved or understood. We use a purchased software which is highly customizable, BUT there aren't any options to alert members when their attachment space is reaching capacity, I wished that there would be it would certainly resolve some frustration. With the addition of the Gallery however, it will be easier to see when members approach the 40 picture limitation. Again, no rocking the boat, we do our best to insure that the forum is highly available whether or not you're a supporter. For more information on the supporter program see here

I did the final assembly on my latest distraction this morning. To say I'm pleased with myself is an understatement After not a lot of planning, but a lot of thinking, putting together and taking apart. I managed to modify a wheel horse 8 pinion differential into a remote locking diff. This will be the rear transmission on my next 4WD project. Video was done this morning - I got distracted at lunchtime by my other hobby, making synthesisers and music... The music on the youtube vid is just one take of me noodling and driving the missus mad.

    Flaming Hayter

I've no idea what model this is, I bought it at least ten years ago. Powered by a small techy engine which has never let me down.. I know it will always start each time on one or two pulls of the cord. As for the flames.. I got bored one day The chrome exhaust didn't stay long as it made the whole mower vibrate like mad, but the induction system is still on it

    a question for the moderators?

very many thanks for this Karl sorry if this rocked the boat a bit but my thaughts were had any other members had this problem and was this why some postings had dropped off ,I see now you have also changed the log in page explaining this ,the only other question I have .Is there a way if non supporters come to there maximum upload of pictures it could flag up to the user in question that they need to become a supporter/paid up member to get the full benefits of the site as with some other forums? or otherwise if people have the same problem I have had they will walk away. This is a great site and long may it live. thanks in advance steve.

    My tractors under water

Fortunately the water didn't manage to get into the house so we only had the garden to clear up afterwards. I am now building a workshop to get the tractors out of the elements but sadly this is also within the flood zone of the garden so my hope is that we don't flood again in the near future

    Oldest Tool(s) in your Toolbox

Re post 25, The reason I recognised the tool was because we had one in the workshop where I worked, it was a Ridgid screw cutting machine made by the Ridge Tool and Die company in the USA and we used it for making the bolts that hold wooden fenders and mooring Bollards to the Quayside, the largest bolts were 50mm thread diameter and if I remember correctly that size needed two passes of the die to form a thread, anything up to 40 mm could be done in one pass but the machine was working pretty hard on the larger sizes. Lot easier than threading steel bar by hand though. Ray.

    Supporting My Old Machine

Membership on My Old Machine is free, and there is no obligation to support the forum financially. My Old Machine operates on a paid host with commercially obtained software which entails periodic renewals and charges. Because MoM is in it's infancy it is supported by a larger community WheelHorseForum.com. This arraignment is necessary because the cost of operating a professional highly available forum is not free. While our forum grows, it will begin to utilize more resources than RedSquare can or should allow and eventually My Old Machine will need to become independent. To assist in this independence, we have created a supporter program which is designed to fund the operations of My Old Machine. Becoming a supporter is NOT mandatory to be a member, and as a free member you will enjoy all of the primary benefits of the forum. Supporting members enjoy these benefits plus: Unlimited attachment sizes (Non-Supporters are limited to 16Mb) 1 Album with 40 pictures in our Gallery 500 Personal Messages (50 for non-supporing members) Access to the supporter only forum. and a special supporter badge. Again, supporting the forum is optional, but we do value your support and look to be an independent site. Becoming a supporter is easy, simply visit our store and purchase your one year supporter membership.
