Hi Guy's, sorry I've been a bit slow getting the Tractorfest videos sorted.. But a start has been made.. So I don't upset my ISP by using too much bandwidth I can only upload 1 video a day.. So here's the first, Day one in the arena.. Thank you to Ben for the camera duties

    the new project handy landy

this project was started by a mate about 5 years ago it started life as a landrover 2a He binned the bodywork, shortened the axles and prop shafts, and mounted the whole lot on a channel section chassis so that it now measures 8 foot by 4 foot. It has Fergie front arms with Landy ball joints, and an articulated front axle, the original wheels, and an old tractor seat (cushion or padded butt required It only has a mechanical brake on one rear wheel, so i will be sorting brakes out all round. it wants loads of work to finish it of and my intension is to fit a pto and hydrolics and start hauling wood

    Lawn sweeper refurb.

Last year I got a Wheel Horse lawn sweeper. Not that I've got a big lawn, but I cut the grass on the village green. That's number 3 grandson, not me. While doing a neighbour a favour by cutting, then sweeping, her very large back lawn/field, one of the brush spindle bearings collapsed. On stripping things down, I found the other bearing not in the best of health either. I knew that getting OE bearings could pose problems, I decided to modify to metric bearings. The difference in the outside diameters of the OE bearings was 2 thou. Two metric bearings were procured with 35mm o/d. These tapped nicely in to place. The inside diam is greater than the brush spindles end inserts. You can see where the worn bearings have scored the inserts. The plan is to turn up two sleeves, that will be heat shrunk onto the inserts, then turned down to suit the metric bearings I/d.
