I have just had a look at the manual, it is quite basic and there are no diagrams of the transmission, it only tells me a few details about the speeds and fluids. Harry

Not sure on this, but I think it it cou;d be a colt deluxe as has electric start, not sure if that was an option for the colt.

That's a Meccano kit if ever I saw one ! I have got another back end for a 10hp which will be up for sale soon (as will the tractor when the gearbox is sorted)

The gearbox is in bits waiting for a new second gear, Mr Denness (whoever he is) did the spanner work on it... As Harry says the 7hp has only three speeds, the 10hp has three and a high/low box

Is it a colt or a colt deluxe as they would be slightly different. The colt deluxe is 10hp and has hi and low range, as compared to the colt which is only 7hp and no hi and low. I have an original manual for one with some details in, if you need pictures of that or the tractor let me know. However I have not taken one apart unlike Paul. Harry

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but I noticed the high volume of views and that I failed to add a pic of the finished Mower sorry!. Here is one I meant to add just after it was finished (along with other Reprobate Refurbs)- It looks like I'll be able to pull it's covers off and give it a run soon, so I'll try a Vid a working session. And just to add more detail to the recorded history of this Mower's life, my friend Roly (son of original owner) recently sent me some pics he found of him using the Mower when he was about 9yrs back in the early sixties- Regards.
