  1. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Been a good day. Going out for a meal tonight with Carol and a couple of friends. I may even have a pint or two.

    Wheels

They look as if they bolt to a hub/brake drum. So could be off a scooter.
  3. I was just about to say that. Very nice job, Rex.
  4. That Eck's John Deere? First tractor I had a go at ploughing with. You need a strong right arm.
  5. You most likely did, Jonathan. I should have made a note. Next year.
  6. Hopefully you'll have a better turnout, Chris.
  7. You kept quiet about that, Jonathan. I was told I could have Sunday off. I could have had a run down, instead of working on the studio.

Starter bendix sticking? Take the motor off and see if the bendix is free. If not, dismantle it and clean in petrol. Assemble dry. DON'T oil or grease. Is the earth from the starter motor good?

It certainly is quirky. You're building up quite a collection, Harry.
  10. Not me unfortunately. The Disco has just put 250,150 miles on the clock.
  11. For insurance for your stationary engine and mower, have a look in a magazine for classic, vintage, horticultural machinery. My tractors are insured through Cherished Car Ins. No doubt one of the other members can elp with your machines. You don't have to be a club member to exhibit at shows. For info on when and where shows are held, on here for some or other web sites. I doubt you could register a car as a showman's vehicle. Large van or lorry maybe. But you'd not be able to use it for anything else I'd think.
  12. Saw the skimmer today. I thought it looked smaller in the photo's, than the one I attempted to demolish the garage with. The reason for that is the yellow one has tracks 18 inch longer. Possibly done when the Ford engine was fitted, to balance things out. The Ford was further back. As for the MG40, I really liked that. Possibly because it is painted green. Starts and runs well also. CAROL? Pretty please?
  13. I had one of those years ago. A bigger version though. Chain drive and ag' tyres. A real beast and could cut down gooseberry bushes. Engine went bang one day and I scrapped it. Rear axle was lying up at the farm for years, then given to someone on here last year, who was doing one up.
  14. Call me old fashioned if you will. I've been called worse. I've never bought anything off E-bay. I like to see what I'm paying for before I part with my money.
  15. Silly me. I was thinking ITW. Could it be the track its self? I know it could be a bit of a faff, but how about disconnecting the track and seeing if the drive sprocket turns?
  16. I can remember my father vulcanising a patch on a motorcycle inner tube. G clamp, tin lid with meths in and a match.
  17. My first thought is seized chain. Maybe a link or links on a sprocket.
  18. Skimmer seems to look smaller with auger etc fitted. You sure that new garage will be big enough, Jonathan?
  19. Why a new frame? The cast sides look the dogs whatsits.
  20. Nearly called in at Jonthans this morning. Just as well i didn't. Pleased you got it loaded OK.
