    Lawnflite 504

I rooted out some old Wheel Horse cables. The idea was to use an inner in the original outer sheath. Unfortunately the WH inners are a few thou bigger then the Lawnflite one.

    Lawnflite 504

I've been working on a neighbours Lawnflite ride on. I sold them it about 6-7 years ago, in good running order, when I got my Wheel Horse C-125. Two years ago it wanted a new battery and was traveling at a snails pace. Since then it had been left outside with a cover thrown over it. On examination of the drive pulleys etc, I found, though not seized, everything rather stiff in operation. This had caused the drive belt to the gearbox to come off the tension pulley. No wonder it was moving at a snails pace. Stripped it all down and gave it a good clean up. Now working as it should. Next I turned my attention to the engine. 8hp B&S. Battery on and the engine spun like a good 'un. Checked the oil and a good job I did. Nothing on the dipstick. I drained about two cup fulls of very black liquid out and filled with fresh oil. Petrol in and lets see if it will run. After a bit of cranking to get fuel through it fired up and ran fine. Back on the ground and try the clutch and gears. All working ok and then, the throttle cable snapped. I've been told they are now obsolete, so now the hunt is on.
  4. Due to computer problems I've been unable to post photo's of the progress of the studio. Here are some updates
  5. Now all I have to do is remember how I did that. Using lap top BTW.
  6. I bet the swinging arm bearings are bushes and no grease nipples?
  7. Built a snowplough/dozer blade about 5 years ago. Not had any snow as such since.
  8. The Mill is a lovely place, George. As to the drove road marker, my previous abode had grave stones as floor flags and various other stones from the local abbey.

    Brott 20 mower

That's a very tidy machine, Harry. Good buy.
  10. You could fit a set of detachable forks on the blade.
  11. Alain, most of our comments about our better halves, are tongue in cheek. Not to be taken too seriously. Anyway, you must be tyred out with all that rubber changing.
  12. Can I be second in line for it please?
  13. All the Best, Ewan. Hope that father of yours has got some good presents for you.
  14. Brilliant idea, Jock. But I think it'll take a while to work through that pile of logs.
  15. I like the engine, grinder, lathe set up in the first photo', George.
  16. Great photo's, Darren. The horses looked grand. The steamers as well. Looks like a good day all round.
  17. I knew it reminded me of something. Early Landmaster?
