I've known holes like that be brazed. A fabrication shop may do it for you. BUT! And it's a big but, wash the tank out thoroughly with water then run compressed air through it for a while.
I'm very sorry to hear that, Paul. Convey my good wishes to him and Pam. Hope all turns out OK. Been meaning to phone him as not spoken to him since before Christmas.
For road use we have to get them registered, road taxed and insured. Same as any vehicle that is used on the road. Can be a headache if it is an old vehicle that has never been registered.
Aye! You over on the east coast really copped it. Things were pretty bad in the Lake District with power cables down, trees blocking roads and flooding..
During the recent storm, a rather large tree was uprooted down the bridleway. Those who know me have no need to guess who'll be having it for firewood. But it's position it is in, leaning over the bridleway and against a tree on the opposite side, makes getting down on the ground a bit tricky.
I do have a plan that hopefully will work. Remove as many limbs as I can, not mine I hasten to add, to reduce the weight. Then get one of the lads from the farm round the corner with the telehandler. Get that under the tree as near to the top as possible, ease it up and push it over onto the bridleway. May be a while before it can be done.
