Looks like a home made ground anchor to me. Two possible uses. For mooring a boat in a tidal harbour or on a beach. Or for attaching a winch to, to pull a winch equipped vehicle. ie. Off road winch events.

Yes. Insurance for each tractor is required. For two wheel horses and the Sears/Roper it's about £90 with Cherished insurance.

I was shown this below today, along with several other people. Non of whom knew for definite. Small cheese or butter making contraption was the most guesses. Anyone know? When you turn the handle, one paddle thingy goes one way and t'other t'other way.

Just mount the alternator similar to on a car. You'll most likely get the brackets etc from a scrapyard.

Looking good. You could bolt the alternator brackets on.
