  1. That's a bull dozer.
  2. It does look good in the flesh metal. Well deserved second place.
  3. The green Commer? with box body would do me. Also, what I think is a Corgi mini motorcycle.
  4. That's a 1936 French Velocar. Belongs to a bicycle collector friend of mine. Has three speeds and two seats in the back for children.
  5. Sorry no! Thought you'd like it but didn't think to get numbers or ask questions.
  6. Jonathan (expeatfarmer) got third place with his MG2, Callender Plooman second with his Auto Culto and myself first with the C-81.
  7. The rally went well and the weather stayed fine, but a little breezy. Breezy being an understatement. I now have a wind burnt mush. Up early Saturday morning and arrived at the site at 6-30am. Trailer loaded with the C-81, C-121 and stuff for the auction. I was going to take the Teagle Hedge Trimmer but couldn't fit it on the trailer. Saturday was spent unloading auction things as people brought them in and eating bacon rolls. Had a couple of pints in the bar then in bed by 10pm. Bed being a padded bench in the club mobile office. Sunday up a 5am and off to unlock gates and take up my post at the exhibitors gate for 6am. The cars and motorcycles entered by another gate further on. Locked the gate at 10am as that was the time the show started. Had a quick look at auction stuff that had arrived that morning, but nothing really caught my eye. For the first time for a while, I managed to have a good look round. So some photo's. We had 11 entries in the horticultural class. Some you may recognize.
  8. Jonathan's your man. expeatfarmer. He's our Ransome's expert.
  9. Horticultural entries are now up to ten. Pretty good for up here.
  10. I doubt you'll have anything he hasn't got already, Doug.
  11. Your most likely right about the bracket being at an angle. Sounds reasonable.
  12. If he finds another, it's got MY name on it.
  13. A complete Brinly. You jammy so and so!
  14. One going in the Hethergill Vintage Club rally auction on Sunday. I believe it's fully restored and the owner wants a £1000 reserve on it.
  15. There's some wiring info in Matt's Horwool engine woes thread. As you strip them, take plenty of photo's for reference on re-assembly. As a point of interest, where about in Lancashire are you? I'm originally Lancashire born and bred.
  16. Not now he can't. It's at your place and I've got the trailer. Hopefully Rolloman is putting in two entries. And it's not too late for anyone else. We don't turn anyone away.
  17. I've been meaning to make some more of those. Made one for the C-125.
  18. Just the job. You do need a little movement though and the coulter wheel needs moving closer to the moldboard.
  19. As of this morning the wheels contain 3lbs of lead shot. Nice and stable now.
  20. Take it to Johns place on Tuesday. Ideal place.
  21. Last year I made a couple of display stands. Simple T design, similar to ones made by The Showman. These just press into the ground and information board mounted across the top. At the HVC rally at Carlisle airport on the coming weekend, the entries are mainly on hard standing. Thinking drilling holes in the runway wouldn't go down well, I had a root around and found a pair of plastic wheels and some scrap ply board. Screwed each wheel to a piece of board, then a splash of paint and viola the result below. The stand spikes are a good push fit in the wheel centres. Still not very stable in breezy/windy conditions and the airfield is certainly breezy. I have in my store shed a large jar of lead shot, left over from when I reloaded shotgun cartridges. Tomorrow the wheels will be filled with shot. That should stop them blowing over.
  22. HVC vintage rally. Sunday 30th April. Carlisle airport. Cars, wagons, tractors, motorcycles, stationary engines, steamers, horticultural, crafts, etc. etc. Late entries will be accepted. PM me for details. I'd love to see more horticultural machinery.
