Bit of an update on this.

My boss is talking about clearing out the garage where this lives and scrapping it. I'm trying to persuade him that it is worth hanging onto until this virus thing is finished and someone could collect it. I have said that I would deal with getting rid of it. Any money raised would go to the amenity fund of the care home where I work, this pays for activities/trips for the residents. I would like to get an idea of value, maybe that would persuade him it was worth keeping for a bit.

    Thanks.

32 was the greatest number of thorns that I pulled out of a customer’s tyre a few years ago when he complained that the tyre sealant wasn’t working ! I laid them out in a line on a piece of card with a strip of clear tape over them  and presented it to him with the bill.

Safety issue . Never inflate a tyre on the flat , especially with your face immediately above it. Stand the wheel on edge at “ right angles” in front of you . That way if the tire blows off the rim it goes left or right  and not back at you.

We started the day with a simple puncture repair on the Westwood D1200 which we were not planning to video. Due to an interesting discovery we thought we would share what we found.

    Hi,
    First of all, welcome all
I live in Poland and rebuild the Westwood "baby" gazelle W8 - 1983. I need stickers. I wrote an e-mail from restorationdecals.co.uk,  but I don't have any feedback.
You don't know if the stickers are still available?

    Greetings
    Tomas

Hi all, I've been fairly inactive for the past year as a lot has happened including my dad helping me to build a shed for my junk!
I've still got my Westwood Gazelle MK2 which has given me a lot of fun but also a lot of saving for parts haha. I recently was given a rare MK1 Gazelle for my birthday back in June which I'll eventually respray original colours and decals as well as mechanical work to get it running right. I was very lucky to get it as apparently there was a guy in Scotland who was going to pick it up a day after us but the owner had accepted our offer first.
Recently had the carburetor cleaned on the MK2 as had trouble starting it as well as it fluttering when going onto higher revvs. Since purchased i've replaced points and condenser, air filter, pulleys, drive belt, lights, seat, fuel piping, and a new fuel filter. Initially it was running great as it should do haha.
Although when taking it out today I noticed a lot of fluttering throughout running which meant the governor was working fast, I'm not sure if the new fuel piping is a little small or the filter is slowing the fuel down from getting to the engine, either way I think it may be fuel starvation so will try to sort that!

Here's some pictures of the Gazelle after cutting in summer time and all oiled for winter (google album) -

I found the exhaust as mounted, was sending exhaust fumes back towards my face. So it got modified yesterday. Not tried it yet, but should be a lot better.

Been messing around with the front end and would like your comments please.
Im not a lover of the 4 inch wheels so want to swop them for 8 inch but I’ve enough stuff to make two trikes, if i fit the 8 inch wheels I’m going to use the original narrow front axle, the trike setup looks a bit high but will be 4 inches lower when fitted.
So what do you all think ?.

Dug this out from the storage shed and thought it would make a little winter project, I’ve got another one somewhere in bits so more rummaging when time permits.
A little challenge to build the pair together for next year’s shows.

We have started work on a new project, a 1962 Bolens 600. This tractor has been modified in the past and has lots of challenges. The tractor was bought in 2005 and has been in storage ever since. Like our other projects, I find it easier to record video rather than write up what we are doing, here is the first part

Good luck with the restoration! Your paleface looks pretty solid, very little rust  With some new paint and decals will look great! If you need any parts let me know I have quite a lot.

So I've just bought this old paleface W11 to restore. I know it runs ride and cuts, but the paintwork needs fixing and the steering wheel, wiring and deck have had some dodgy repairs in its time. Its going to be fully stripped down and restored to factory condition. I will video the project and post it to youtube and also upload photos on here as i go as i may need advice etc. Ive had a W8 paleface in the past, a T1800, a W6, an S600, a T1200 and I currently have an early D1200 with the T1200 branding and Lombardini engine so Im not new to these machines. Ill post the first update this weekend.

Some of you guys may remember the Bolens stash that we acquired about 2-1/2 years. The tractor that appeared to be in the best condition was a blue painted Bolens 1054 which looking like it needs very little to get working. We got that assesment wrong as it has taken us a long time and lots of new and replacement parts to get it running. We still have a few more jobs to do but we would like to use it a bit first and see what other problems appear.

    Hi all,

After a lot of trying to get the 1978 Gazelle's engine going, the best we could get it to go was Ok-ish, so I decided I'd put that engine on the back burner and use the engine from my other Westwood in this one (the engine Chris gave me! ), as the other Westwood is more custom anyway I was thinking about dropping a twin Briggs or something like that in it, and keeping this one mainly original. So I finished the job today of getting the engine in this one and it runs and drives great, lots of fun. Here's a picture of the mower and Saxon trailer. Soon I would like to get a new seat and perhaps replace the broken decals, but I like the patina so won't paint it, instead I used Owatrol Oil

I am also looking forward to the Westwood D1200 as well. It was the first tractor I ever drove.

Here is a much younger me on the tractor, and tractor looked a lot better then (yes we do have two of them).

Great video Joseph. The Westie come up very well; only another 50 or so garden tractors to clean ......

Just a bit concerned about the tramp who muscled in on the video.  I guess you gave him a brown paper bag with a cheap bottle of whiskey to quench his thirst to make him go away?

This lives at work, it hasn't moved in the 9 1/2 years that I've been there. I'm not sure if the deck is still around or went in a scrap clearout.

We got our 1973 Bolens G10 out of storage to check it over and see what parts it needs. We bought this tractor as a non-runner 18 months ago and so far we have not done anything with it.

A previous owner has modified it to take a Westwood blade. It must be an early one as the serial number is very low.

    A quick video introduction
