  1. Looks fantastic Chris Are you keeping them both?
  2. A few weeks ago I mentioned that there was no real issues with Russia.... However, I was talking to a friend of mine back in Early February who son is in the Army and he said there appears to be a lot of Russian activities that is requiring monitoring. What those activities are, my friend didn't know. On top of that, we recently have had an attempted murder of a former Russian spy in Salisbury, a sleepy Wiltshire city and another suspicious death of another Russian businessman last week in London. What's happening, I just don't know but I think there is an attempt to divide Europe by targeting 'Billy No Mates UK' due to the forthcoming Brexit negotiations and thus weakening the EU. it is a relief that the some of the UN, namely, the USA, Germany and France are standing firm with the UK alongside Poland. We know that the Russian's economy is not good so this diplomatic incident may be a deflection by Putin to flex his muscles on the international stage.
  3. Well the Met Office got it right again regarding the heavy snow here in Devon. The A380 near Exeter is renown for it snow problems due to the steep hills called Telegraph Hill on the A380 and Haldon Hill on the A38. The snow here is around 12" deep in places and the main roads here are driveable but it getting access to those roads that is the problem. Here a few photos of the snow where we live. I am hoping it will disappears by tomorrow.....
  4. Good video Joseph of the 1054 in action.
  5. Got to say Fish and chips with mushy peas every time for me. Though I prefer Burger King over McDonalds when I do have a burger which is not often I am afraid due to the queuing. I see KFC UK got supply problems at the moment as over half of their restaurants are temporarily closed....
  6. It amazes me how owners can be so fickle with their pets such as returning a dog to the seller as it barked too much.... Absolutely crazy. Anyway, it gone to a good home now.
  7. I can see why people part exchange/ trade their cars when buying a new car. In fact over the years I have just set my cars against the purchase of the new one. The only exception is buying and selling classic cars,
  8. But I got no wheel weights on there! Oh I see......
  9. Around the River Dart the soil is very free draining as it consists of shale known as Dartmouth Shale. Also the Bolens has very good traction too..... Fortunately the washing line was not in use; hope she does not noticed that it is longer.....
  10. I had a couple of jobs today at a customer's garden and I thought I would give the 600 a brief workout especially since the head gasket and exhaust been replaced by my mate Chris a few days ago. It fired up first time this morning and was a lot quieter than of late. There was a dead Acer (Japanese maple) that needed to be removed. I pruned the branches off and mattacked the roots around the tree. I slipped on a rope around the tree and secured it to the hitch. The Bolens pulled it easily in first gear and took two attempts. Considering that it is a 6hp Bolens without diff lock I was pleased with what it could do.
  11. I like the mobile saw bench Norm. A useful bit of kit.
  12. Very tempted Norm but it is the logistics of transporting it and storing it.
  13. Well I saw Chris earlier today and saw his new toy. It is a very impressive bit and of kit and we both agreed that we were surprised the model never took off. It was great to catch up with him today and I look forward to catching up with him at RPT this August.
  14. Love ît; well done for saving it and as Norm (Stormin) say let see it at Biddenden this year.
  15. Cool collection of vintage chainsaws.
  16. When I arrived the trailer did have a floor & sides until I tested it.....
  17. I think there is enough 'bounce' on the suspension when I checked it over last week.
  18. I am not sure Norm if it is homemade or not but one thing for sure it is very well made. The seller did say there was a manufacturer's plaque on it years ago.
  19. Last Sunday I bought an old garden trailer for next to nothing from a chap up the road. It just fit in the back of the van with an inch to spare. I need a trailer to haul items from my yard to and fro from my van as the track there is very muddy and rutted. It is a particularly well made trailer with a hinged dropside tailgate. The tyres are in good condition too and there is a very rudimentary suspension system too. It rolls freely and the handle on the drawbar is a nice touch. The plan is to rub down the frame and repainted it in an appropriate colour. Might be a dark green metal frame or white. As for the woodwork I could use marine ply or old timber which I would sand down and use Danish Oil. I hope to use some old brass screws to secure the wood in place. The seller said there was a manufacturer plaque on the trailer at one point but sadly now disappeared for eternity. Does anyone recognise the make of the trailer? I think it will be look cool behind one of my Bolens. When the weather warms up I will be making a start on this project.
  20. Very nice Chris. Good find. Not too dissimilar to a Bolens GroundKeeper.
  21. Welcome to MOM. We got two lads, possibly three, that got Martin Markham tractors and they should be able to help you out. Type in Martin Markham in the search engine on the forum and a few posts should crop up. I am tempted to get one myself. Tell us more about the history of your tractor. Photos are a must here.
