Maybe you should get a green and yellow tractor Joseph, different class to the bolens

With the Newby Hall show coming up next weekend, I thought I'd better mention to Carol that I was taking two tractors, but returning with three. (Again).
  Went down quite well. No need to  or vocal outburst and flying objects or threats of GBH. I do now, have to supply decorating materials for master bedroom and lounge.  Fortunately, I won't be doing the decorating. Carols department that.

Yesterday Chris made the three and half hour drive to spend the day with us and we had a great time showing him our collection, driving some tractors and doing some repairs to the Bolens HT20.

It was fantastic to see Alan and Chris yesterday at John's, both are great company and it was worth the trip just for a catch-up, everything else was just a bonus. I popped in to see the other Chris (Bolens Chris as Joseph calls him) on the way home and collected a few other goodies.
 
I am sure Chris and Alan said the tractor was another one of those red Bolens, honest  I thought I was going to get away with driving the short distance to the van until I turned the corner and was faced with the Paparazzi clicking away with cameras. I stopped at services on the way home and send advanced apologies to the other Bolens boys but it didn't work as I was getting abusive messages most of the way home
 
It was 1am by the time I had unloaded the van and getting the big trailer out on my own was an interesting experience. I am looking forward to restoring the big trailer and it will look good with the Ride-a-matic sitting back on it, however it will not be done for a while.

He took the large trailer remains which he hopes to rebuild one day. Plus a few small goodies.   Nothing of interest to find now ................. Unless !.  Still lots of brambles to dig through.

Looks like a modern day Steptoe with horse and cart.

Iain was VERY reluctant.  Thought it wouldn't go down well with the Bolen's boys being seen on a red tractor.  He had to give in when told his only other option was to carry everything himself while Chris and I went for a cuppa.

Had another fun day at Johns today with Iain as he had to drive a Wheelhorse to get his stuff to his van.

Yesterday Joseph wanted to create a video of our Bolens HT23. I need to make some belt guards for the deck and then he can cut the grass for me.

I am not sure if I have introduced my HT23 on here before. I bought the tractor in 2009 and I mainly use it for grass cutting duties
 

 
Last year I lifted the deck and one of the deck lift bolts broke, I then managed to rip up the wood threshold on the door of my workshop trying to drive it in with the deck dragging on the ground. I have been a bit busy so it has taken me until now to get around to fixing it.
 
First I remove the old lift bolts, looks like someone has been here before as they should not be made out of M12 threaded rod
 

 
I then pulled one off my HT20 so I could see what they should look like
 

 
I then made some replacement parts
 

 
then I made a quick frame to hold the parts in place for welding
 

 
I even gave them a quick coat of paint before fitting
 

 
I can't believe what a difference it makes, the deck lift has never been this good. Another job done.
