  1. There is no feedback between the generator and engine, I seem to recall the generator output frequency is around double that of a mains wall outlet. Be very careful not to damage your generator, I have one here that failed at max RPM when the governor vane fell out of the carb butterfly, the output voltage is now half what it should be. Also overloading these generators can also ruin them. On all the Tiny Tigers the carb needle valve adjustment was set after the engine had warmed up, with a full load of approx 300 Watts of traditional incandescent lamps (250W to 350W). Later engines also have the governor control lever (quadrant control) for adjusting the governor vane spring pressure for required engine speed. The later manual gives information to set this to the lowest setting appropriate for the intended duty/load, it gives governor lever positions of vertical for normal loads and fully towards the muffler for heavy loads. Also for battery charging the governor control lever is used to control the charge rate. I intend to scan the Tiny Tiger manual & add it the the manuals 'sticky' thread when I have some free time. David
  2. Must be this one; https://www.ebay.com/itm/202651831428 David
  3. TinyTiger hasn't been on the forum since December last year, it may be best to send a PM to find out if it sold or not. David
  4. I would suggest you add some pictures of the parts you can't identify. Also have you had a look through the information in the manuals sticky thread? David
  5. This may be of interest on here, a vintage model plane with an early Ohlsson & Rice 3/4HP engine, the wingspan is 7ft, the engine is SN 007860 dating from around 1961. The only replacement parts I can see are magneto coil and a complete later carb primer assembly & needle valve, the original side mounted needle valve has been blocked off. As it has been converted to RC control with a servo & cable for the carb throttle control, the redundant governor vane has been removed too. Model plane on eBay.com David
  6. Looks very nice too, was the engine built from scratch, or from a kit? I have an Original brochure/leaflet for the Sea Queen (with O&R engine & Octura accessories), it needs to scanning & adding to the manuals sticky thread when I have time. David
  7. I thought the generator would be something much bigger than an O&R, here is a direct link to the Onan generator thread on the Ford Truck forum; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/867881-underhood-onan-generator.html Sounds like a good start to your O&R collection. Is the Model 219 the engine type & do you have any pictures? You may want to post some pictures of the starter assembly from the Chip-A-Saw, so we can confirm the parts needed. Obviously it would be best to either start a new thread or add to another relevant thread for these. Surplus WWII era McCulloch drone engines were used on some Bensen Gyro-coptors, along with an optional O&R engine as a pre-rotator; David
  8. I've not seen that type of die forming blocks before, but the press frame looks very similar to what they have at work for crimping large terminals onto traction motor cables, it has several sets of interchangeable die blocks for different sized crimp terminals and a hydraulic ram is used instead, something like this one: https://tranect.co.uk/hydraulic-crimping-tool-bench-mounted/ David
  9. Here are some screenshots I did a while ago to help with posting pictures. You can either drag pictures directly into the post editor, or use the choose files option. Using the choose files option you can select the picture(s) and they will appear at the bottom of the editor. If you want the picture attached somewhere in the text, click on the place in the text you want to add it & click the + button on the picture. You can also resize pictures when they are in the text by double clicking on them & editing the sizes. Hope this helps. David
  10. Very nice boat, I hope someone on here buys it, did you try the engine in your White Heat boat? I had an Aerokits RAF crash tender for a short time, but it had to go as it wasn't in great condition and was too fragile for my liking. It found a good home with a model boat collector who was going to restore it & convert it to electric drive. Edit: Some of the old Aerokits model boat kits are still available as laser cut kits in the UK, the Sea Queen seems to be missing from the range offered here: http://lesromodels.co.uk/product-category/boat-kits/aerokits-laser-cut-kits/ David
  11. Welcome to the forum. Did you miss out on a Ford branded chainsaw recently, or when these were originally sold by Ford dealers? And who made the generator? I've not heard of an O&R one offered by Ford. Well O&R service bulletin S-E-083 confirms that Ford tractor dealers sold the Eagle I & Eagle II chainsaws (1.6HP Series 20A engine) and the Hawk chainsaw (1HP Series 13B engine), all of these were made by Ohlsson & Rice. David
  12. Carb primer conversion kits were available from April 1962, so wouldn't be out of place for this saw, in fact all the others I have pictures of have primer buttons. David
  13. Looks in very nice condition, those early saws aren't that easy to find, I'm still looking. It's had the carb replaced at some point, the quadrant control isn't found on the early ones, also one of the filler caps should be red (maybe the paint has fallen off). David
  14. Wallfish are you still selling ohlsson and rice diaphragms? If so I'd like to buy one Both Webhead & Wallfish have them if you are in the US, I can help if you are in Europe. David
  15. I assume you are going after originals of some of the magazines. Also note I have downloaded all the relevant pages just in case the web-links ever stop working. David
  16. It's good to finally have all the information in one place where everyone can easily find it, before some of it was scattered all over the place in various different threads, even I was struggling to keep track of what had already been added. Plus there is lots more that will be added gradually as time allows. David
  17. If only we could find a Sears catalog with it in, that would probably solve the mystery. I've collected thousands of pictures that can help with researching these engines over the years. Is the Sears stuff on eBay from the business seller that parts out all kinds of chainsaws? David
  18. Well it has taken a long time, but the new manuals, brochures, adverts & magazine articles thread has finally got all the information from the old thread added to it. If anyone has any comments, finds any errors, finds something to add, or has a request for the sticky thread please post about it here. David
  19. Maybe the fact it had (very cheap) international shipping on the listing helped it find more buyers than usual too. Well there isn't a lot of difference between the Type 203 from the recent auction and the Type 213 (used on the Sears chainsaw). The gear ratios are the same according to the info I have, the only differences I can see are the output drives (203 has the shaft extension & 213 has a chain sprocket) and the type of tank used. Also the brass strip stop switch would be inaccessible on the Sears chainsaw. Here is the other Type 203 engine with gearbox that I saved pictures of a few years ago, the serial number is 0070662 which is very close to the one that just sold on ePay. Decal with mystery 745-350010 reference (which is quoted on the O&R parts list for the Sears Mighty Light). David
  20. Strange things happen, we had a thread about an overpriced Orline chainsaw (that made $500 on ePay) on the old forum. I agree someone has done some repainting, there is no paint missing where the tank is battered underneath. And well spotted with the decals, it's missing the 'III' next to 'Compact', I'm a bit confused as to the Sears number at the bottom of the instruction decal, this engine was not used on one as far as I know. Edit: To add more confusion I have pictures of another type 203 engine with the same Sears number, the decals on that do look original though, the serial number is very close to the current ePay one too. David
  21. I really don't know, it's been on my watch list too. Maybe the gearbox is a desirable type for a mini-bike, but the seller hasn't actually mentioned the type (though I can see the engine is a type 203 from the pictures). There's nothing special about the tank, the ends have been pushed out as someone left fuel in it at some point in the past & it expanded with heat (perhaps the tank lid vent was blocked). David
  22. Well as the diesal0035 hadn't logged in since the first post, I thought I would have a quick look at completed listings and that's when I found it (from the time on ebay it looks like it got listed shortly after Paul replied here). I think it might have made more if it was left as an auction and of course the ebay listing was US only too. David P.S. Hopefully these will turn up more often now that there are several threads and some information on here, which will help people better identify these for selling on ePay.
  23. Hopefully this will work for you. Hover your mouse cursor over your forum username in the top right corner. Select/click on "Account Settings". You should find your current Email Address listed with "Change" next to it. David
  24. Seems this saw went straight on ebay on Wednesday and an offer was very quickly (perhaps too quickly) accepted, was it anyone on here? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Beautiful-60s-70s-Vintage-Ohlsson-and-Rice-ORline-Gas-Concrete-Partner-Saw-/183794141387 David
  25. The Orline circular saw is fairly scarce, I would be interested too, the last one I saw sold for around $200 (but wasn't in as nice condition). The parts diagram/list for the Circular saw was uploaded to post #11 in this thread; David
