  1. At least the BBC had the decency not to air the raucous affair of Brits beating Brits over the visit of an American, but it was well covered by our press here in the states. So much foreign policy is out on the internet these days and the online commenting, speculation and interpretation of government policies by 3rd rate internet trolls and social media experts is generally where the lazy media get their (inaccurate) information. There are some real questions going on with Brexit that don't concern the US per se and that should be determined by the Brits, obviously the timing (not a State visit though) was awkward to say the least. It would appear both Merkle and May both are going to have a tough road holding onto power and control of their governments for reasons not pertaining to President Trump. Another reason that this trip might have been better at another time. I understand we were in trade negotiation with the UK and the US had some concerns about the EU continuing commitment to Russian energy considering NATO spends a lot of money supposedly protecting Europe from Russia. The whole deal with Gerhardt Schroeder and a Russian energy company looks really horrible, as does the migrant issue with all EU nation, coupled with England's possible exit from the EU and other disagreements within the Union, it is quite the sticky wicket as you chaps say. Yes, I would have been horrified had Americans floated a blimp of the Queen or other foreign leader. This is not how adults act and I think that is the real root of many problems today. At this point more and more people are leaning toward Trump in the upcoming elections, both by proxy in congress and in the next Presidential race. Those people are not bad or hateful people, they are just sick of corrupt and ineffective leaders
  2. Everyone should be able to express an opinion or a a viewpoint without fear. So why would people physically attack others for expressing a different opinion or a viewpoint and then be called those fascists by the people attacking them? The News reported that a group of people that support President Trump were standing outside a pub in London when they were physically attacked by anti-Trump protesters. This has happened multiple times in America with the Antifa movement who call themselves anti-fascist, but use violence to attack peaceful demonstrators. What makes it even more intolerable is that the news media actually seems to encourage this behavior and rewards the parties that use violence against those that support the President of the United States (imagine if the media supported the KKK during Obamas's presidency). I get it, a lot of people don't agree with Trump, that's fantastic and we call that a free society, but when you use violence because you didn't win an election and your party is self destructing, that party and that ideology will become akin to the radical jihadist platform, i.e., the use of terror to achieve goals. Today we have people that are not emotionally mature and have resorted to violence and self help to get their way. In life we must always accept the fact that we don't always get our way and work together for a better tomorrow. I am trying to be fair and even handed in my assessment of this situation and I hope any responses are as well.
  3. Happy Birthday Nigel, hope it was a good one
  4. I really hope this isn't a trend. I also hope that after using this machine you might find something in the color red that suits your fancy even more, lol
  5. I've used two oak wedges between the case and pulley and driven them off when the pulley failed to do so.
  6. Great photos Paul, seems like there were a large number of white legs in attendance as well.
  7. I collect hydrostats, but this year model Bolens is on my wish list, I only hope to acquire one as nice as yours Joeseph
  8. It said Multi Purpose Saw on the sticker, so that's what I called it. I never knew what they were called, I heard them called concrete saws, but I've seen ride on concrete saws too.
  9. I have a section of sidewalk and patio that are cracked/broken and need cut out and repoured, so i took that as a reason to buy this 1978 Homelite XL-98C at 70.00. It wasn't much more than the rental would have been, so I get another old saw for the collection and force myself to repair the concrete
  10. HeadExam

    Wow, that is nice!!!!!
  11. Maybe you should add some of his dark hair on top of your head.
  12. The pictures are fabulous Norm, The Lincoln brings back memories, I had 3 of them, 2 Mark coupes and a Continental.
  13. I think you are spot on, and I wouldn't be surprised if that tractor was still just a few kilometers from where it was stolen. I think someone is hoarding/hiding it or it would have been spotted by a hobbyist or collector.
  14. Very happy you found out and were able to resolve the issue. Hope your mending well. So socialized medicine isn't the complete answer? Health care seems to be one of those issues that both sides try to make the issues and solutions unobtainable.
  15. All technicalities aside, the newer 2 stroke oils are far superior to the old standard 30 weight oils used in the past. While I can't say that this statement holds true for O&R engines. I can say with much confidence that the old chainsaws from the mid 60's benefit from the use of better lubricating oils at a higher mix ratios because of a cleaner burn. Of course these engines were using reed ported intakes and open exhaust.
  16. That's good, around here if there isn't full sun the types of native grasses we have do not grow in any shade
  17. I would ask the members here to print your flyer and take it to every rally and I would include a statement that it might have been repainted
  18. As far as I know straight 30w non detergent non synthetic oil is available all over the US
  19. It was a 5.7 megabyte .bmp file, wont work for uploading. I reduced it and changed the file name
  20. Grass needs sun to grow as much as water. soil issues and lack of sun are by far the biggest problems with getting grass to grow, water is not one of them.
  21. Richard is right on track. I can give you two of the most often followed thoughts. First all people agree modern 2 stroke oils are much better than the old 30 weight motor oils used in mixing in the past. Old school people will most often use a top quality synthetic or synthetic blend 2 stroke oil like a Stihl or Lucas oil at a mixture of 25:1 to 32:1 on equipment previously spec'd for 16:1. Newer old machines that were spec'd at 32:1 are often run at 40:1 to 50:1 with modern top quality synthetic oils. There is a danger of using both too much oil or not enough oil in case you were unaware. Too much oil can cause a carbon build up that could seize a piston or score a cylinder, probably not as bad as not enough oil, but it does happen. If I were going to use the Tiger on a limited basis I would lean to a little bit more oil (25:1), and if I were going to use it more often I would use the 32:1 ratio. I use nothing but Amsoil Saber Professional 2 stroke oil and in my new Husqvarna 525LS that is spec'd for 50:1 Amsoil can be safely run at 100:1 ratio, but I will only go as high as 80:1, because I feel better with a little more oil. I will say Amsoil Saber is the finest two stroke oil in the world and because you can mix at a higher ratio it is more economical. On Amazon or eBay a quart will run about 20.00 delivered to your door, I doubt you will find it for sale locally, but hey you might. The New School people are often using 50:1 Amsoil or Stihl 2 stroke oil in old machines that were spec'd for 16:1 and 32:1 that claim no ill effects or damage and they are using this equipment on a regular basis and even under fairly rugged conditions, but personally I'll stay with the first tack. As for fuels, I would only use non ethanol fuel. If you cannot obtain non ethanol fuel I would use True Fuel premix at 32:1
  22. Happy Birthday Mark, I think you need to buy yourself an extra present or two
  23. You are liable to encounter some very large roots that close to the trees, not sure what type of grass will grow under trees, around here rye is the only thing that will grow under trees
  24. Now you need a collection contraption to pick up the trimmings
