  1. Happy Birthday Joseph, I hope you have a great day
  2. The teeth maybe a separate wheel, They don't look like they are part of the smooth wheel
  3. That is one mean grass cutting machine. Fantastic job! Maybe paint the front to look like teeth
  4. yes, the set looks very similar. It is possible that other brands used the same design.
  5. I heard they were going to restart production on the 70 or 90 Landy? Is this true?
  6. We had a good rain last night so today was the day for burning the pile of limbs from the downed tree from a previous storm, We live on top of the prairie nothing to stop the storms winds
  7. My birthday is coming up next month, I could really use a nice straight Land Rover. I probably shouldn't hold my breath huh.
  8. I saw these listed on our local craigslist from 125-400. They vary in widths from 36" to almost 60". I may get one to aerate the lawn and kill some moles
  9. Ugghhh, I've been refurbishing several decks and have several more to do, They are a pain, always more to it than originally considered. I wish you luck and motivation, and I am sure it will come out superb.
  10. in the form of coin, for those that have held a MasterCard for some time. http://www.newser.com/story/230871/mastercard-sued-for-186b-over-excessive-fees.html
  11. It has been 95 degrees and above for a long time here, humidity approaching 70 percent at times, the lawn is as green as a Leprechauns butt, and I'm caught up on school work, so here is a Cool Video.
  12. I think this implement is called a Cultipacker in the States. It seemed very large in the initial pictures, but even behind the tube frame Bolens it isn't overly large. While it is heavy, its supposed to be heavy to work correctly

Great video, Good drivers. If you decide to upload it to you tube, might want to rotate it 90 degrees to the right. I do this all the time.

If you have a You tube account set up and a you tube page then you just have to click the upload button top right and choose from which folder you have the video in. Then you can rename it and add a description and tags. I still have 10 minutes to wait to open the video you posted, but if you have viewed it it is in your memory/cache and you can see it right off.

You might think about opening a you tube account then your videos would play automatically and wouldn't have a 10-15 min download time. Nigel has a awesome one as do many others here, its not too hard.
  16. I think the battery hold down is correct, just not the battery. The Hydro is awesome on the Bolens, but late model geared tractors aren't as common, so nice to see them as well. Thanks for the pictures.
  17. I've had both models, and both drove the transmission off the flywheel side, while earlier tube frames and large frames powered the transmission off the PTO side. Not saying one is better, just different. I noticed you have the same issue I have, the current battery is too big for the plastic hold down.
  18. Actually the QT16 was a 16hp Onan Twin cylinder and the QS16 was the 16 hp Kohler single cylinder, the Q stood for Quiet model or Quiet line and the T and S stood for twin or single. The QT series and XL series Medium Frame tractors had the engine oriented 180 degrees differently than the earlier Bolens tractors.
  19. Excellent video, you ran out of driveway, come do some of mine, lol. Did you know they made that same tractor with a 16hp Kohler k341 single cylinder, the QS16?
  20. Before I had my rear weights I would have my wife sit on my lap while I tilled, but she found out it wasn't just for tilling.

    Bolens 1050

A solution of tri-sodium phosphate (similar to a lye soap concentrate) and water is a very good rust neutralizing agent and I do not know why one could not use the battery charger with this solution to remove rust from the inside of the tank, electrolysis should work like this as well. After the tank is sufficiently clean I would us OSPHO, http://www.ospho.com/ it leaves a clear varnish like sealer that is embedded in the metal and acts as a rust prevention solution without a typical "coating".
  22. Beautiful job on the drive! I wish I had the money to bring in stone, maybe next year. These are not toys, anyone who thinks that is unable to put forth an appropriate thought or response, sadly that seems to be very prevalent these days.
  23. The price is not objectionable for a nice complete '62, unfortunately this one has some issues. The belt guard is missing, as is the rear lift and chassis cover, looks like it was removed. Also some kind of wire hanging out front for somthing, probably a plow lift, missing plow. The steering wheel shows hard wear. The front axle looks like it might have been replaced, again hard wear. No attachments. I saw a restored one with deck rear lift, front finger mower, and snow plow for 1000.00, I should have bought it, but I was and am still buying accessories (limited funds) of other tractors. I would bet the owner would negotiate on this '62, but I have a strict rule I follow, that if it isn't worth the asking price, it probably isn't worth the sale price. I want the one that is the one, it's always out there. I really appreciate you letting me know about this one, everyone I see I learn more about them. I use Fastenal as well and find it is a better deal for a whole tractor than a set of wheel weights. Thanks
  24. We almost never eat out, never for steak. Not enough coin for that. We do on occasion buy a good cut of meat and I cook it on the grille using Hickory charcoal, sometimes Mesquite wood as well. I have never had a restaurant compare to the quality of meat we buy locally, or one that knows how to cook a darn piece of meat properly

    Bolens 1050

We have 87, 89, and 91 no ethanol petrol at various stations around here for 2.48-2.56 per gallon. A spares distributor sells 90 and 100 octane leaded fuel, but it is in cans and barrels at 5.00-7.00 per gallon. I generally use 89 or 91 octane non ethanol fuel and add 1 ounce of Seafoam per gallon. I have never had a fuel related issue.
