Thanks all, I had a great day relaxing for once. I've been really busy with the farm, machines, and saws, lots of projects going on.

My mate and I picked up a rather sorry looking C-125 today. I forgot to take my camera with me,  so no photo's. I'll take it when I go over to his place to try and sort it out. First job will to get it running. Spins over with ease but getting no spark at the plug.
It's certainly no show girl. But it's for towing a trailer in the woods of the property that's just been bought. So an out and out worker.
Paintwork is pretty rough, but tin ware is straight. Plastic type fender is broken at the back and seat is badly worn/torn. Steering wheel wobbles and that may be because the split dowel is not all the way through. One end is sticking out. Battery needs a clamp and one of the rubber hood catches is missing the hook.
It will get a set of ags on the back, as the woods are quite steep.
      I'll update as things progress.

SWMBO came home from her evening walk round the block with our neighbour. "We've found this", she said. Showing me an old kitchen tap. "It would look nice by the pond".
Anyway, after some thought and scratting about, I came up with the feature below.

That should get me some Brownie points.

The Land Rover has great character. I have seen the reviews of the new model and I guess it does not look too bad but I think all the sensors and cameras will get torn off the first hedge someone drives through

Finally got around to looking at this and picked up a second hand Condenser with the right fixing and dimensions. Cleaned the points & wired it back up as it was originally but still no spark. First thought was the Condenser was duff, but I did think something looked odd when I cleaned the points, so I whipped the flywheel off again. The metal strap that tensions the points was earthing out where the wiring from the coil joins it. I put a small piece of roofing felt between it and now have a lovely spark. It now starts & runs lovely, so it was the Atom module that was causing it to over advance the timing. The previous owner probably didn't spot the earthing issue, so fitted the Atom module & created an even bigger problem.

You look right at home and the Landy suits you well. It will take many many miles to remove the emmi-permanent smile and grin.

This is for the R26 model 2-2641, should be nearly identical. The seller is a great guy.

I included a parts list for the 2-2651, there were no drawings, your best bet is to buy the eBay manual and compare it to the parts list in the picture

a few of you have seen my field - all over the place and full of reeds, thistles and nettles. A strimmer doesn't work and a wheel horse deck has no chance. So I have gone large.

A 1.45m flail - which really make the tractor sweat

don't have many pics as I was mowing!   took half a day to get through 2.5 acres of thick grass and a tank of diesel

picked up a trailer at the same time, that helps too!

I had intended to have a test today. But to my surprise, contractors arrived yesterday to combine the field opposite. Now we've had the wettest August on record. The ground is saturated. In places on the green and verges, even the C-125 leaves tracks when mowing.
They only managed to get half the field done. Just about managing not to get bogged down. After a couple of hours they gave up and left.
A few photo's of the state of the lane and the entrance to the field.

They haven't even had the decency to come back and clean up the lane. My neighbours and I are not happy bunnies.

Plan B put into operation this morning.

Decided to see if I could mount it on the mid mount grader. So a measure up and a bit of angle iron found.

BINGO! And no alterations to the grader.

I'll see if I can lay my hands on some plate at the farm. I'll maybe modify things and raise the disc up, to just below the grader blade. I'll see how it performs first. Used at an angle as shown, may push the sod outwards.

I have thought of that, but that's extra work and not necessary really. Cuts fine as it is. Also safer.

The verges on our lane are encroaching on to the tarmac. Not that there's much of that. Mainly a patchwork with holes. Not fancying cutting it back with a spade, I had an idea of doing it with one of my GT's.
I had this scrap saw blade lying around.

Fixed a bolt into the end of some box section and welded another piece to it and drilled a hole. I know the welding is not much cop but it will do for test purposes.

With blade in place, things look like this.

    Add a bit of weight.

After a little test then blade had it's teeth removed and an edge ground on.

It does cut, but more to do. Needs a scraper of some kind to cut under the sod. I have something in mind.

Would be better mounted on the front of the tractor or even mid mounted. Be seen and controlled  better when in use. Might be yet.

If you put it on the front or mid mounted you could put a pulley on it and run it off your PTO

Oh trust me gents, I need a translator for my uneducated American brothers. Many can't spell or speak American English. I might be able to learn another language easier than understand the different dialects in the UK. I'm on the David Brown Tractor Facebook group and many members from Ireland and Scotland as well as many different local dialects. In all fairness I believe this last post was one of the very few that I didn't spell tire with a Y, but no way I can write in local UK dialects, and I realize you may not understand my posts in their entirety,  but at least I produce complete words and sentences with better than average grammar (American). That is not common on the interwebs these days or in public for that matter.
