This is awesome guys , I'm so looking forward to seeing the end result & I'm delighted with this restoration thread , I never though it would get to have a dedicated thread on its revival .
I am sooooo exited to see this happening & that my little baby is in good hands , I have plenty more projects waiting for your expertise Ian . I have contacted Michael Martino to let him know that you guys are now working on his old tractor .
If you want to put a Clinton in it Ewan you will need the 1290 Clinton , you will be very lucky to find one of these , my opinion would be to hang of for the Kohler K90 or K91 , but make sure you don't buy the one with the tapered crank ,
Wow , I'm delighted my little baby is is on the operating table this little tractor used to belong to the Straight from the horses mouth author Michael Martino and if I remember rightly he said it was a He ,
Keep an eye open on US EBay fenders often pop up on there and most people are willing to ship parts , sadly the shipping costs can work out a bit juicy
i was in the same situation as you Ewan , I wanted to have a round hood but they were rarer than hens teeth here in UK so I desided to build my own using the frame from my old commando 8 shown below , I had a hood stand ,fuel tank and other parts shipped over from US but most of the parts you have will already work for what you are trying to do .
sadly I never got round to finishing the round hood and is now in bits in my work shop , Mabe one day I will get round to finishing it.
Junior has gone to visit his baby brother at the hospital and was a little sad to see him on the operating table but he knew he was in safe hands and was delighted to see his younger brother was making a massive recovery and was looking much better and that the colour was beginning to return to his once lifeless body . junior has desided to stay with his baby brother for a short while to have a little surgery done himself .
Yep!. Had sussed all that Neil , I hope you are able to get over the mourning of your reluctant sale. But you also really need to get rid of one of your good ones ,
.........so you are able to lavish more attention on the remaining Herd
Richard , it was prized from my fingers & I'm still in mourning & my flag is still flying at half mast .
The Rj 35 was never sold in UK and as far as I know Chris Sutton & myself are the only owners of the 35 & both were imported from US , there are very few Rj58/59 in UK I only know of a handful of these that still survive , Suburbans are also rare here in UK and not many were sold .
Chris , I wish I had kept it , letting go of it was like pulling all my teeth out with pliers & no anasthetic & then poking a red hot poker into the tooth socket .
