pmackellow got a reaction from Triumph66 in Sussex Area Christmas Lunch
A dozen or so gathered today at the Plough and Horses pub in Crowborough for the Sussex area Xmas Lunch
A great lunch was followed by a cuppa and a natter at ours plus a look round my sheds, a good afternoon, thanks to those who turned up
I also picked up a new machine from Phil Murrell, a Ransomes Cyclone mower looking in the brochure collection I found the right one for it.

Hi Folks,
by God you've all been busy..
I'm shed building again.. sadly (??) things have not turned out well since we moved, so without going into detail, I'm moving out!!
Back to a cottage I was at about 12 years ago, farm cottage, on my own!! ( well, and my dog!) new office set up, which will exceed here by scores and, yes, another shed build..
Shed has started life now, got the carcass up & square.. I'm not getting any younger and believe me I know about doing this... but I love doing it...
After Christmas when all in, I'll get back to the forum a bit more if you'll still have me... Personal Life?? Huh! I don't need one!!

pmackellow reacted to Timm in O & R outboards
Just for comparison here are two outboards.
The older one, red, has a two bladed prop and a smaller tank that will run about 30 minutes.
The newer one has a three bladed prop. Haven't been able to get a continuous run on it.
Both move a 15 ft canoe at about 5 mph

Today's update, lots of stuff has arrived
Firstly switches, lights and connectors
Then a batch of stickers
Which meant I could finish these, shame I couldnt get the tacho in black bezel... Might have to spray it....
Might make a start on the dash panel tomorrow.

It does indeed
Hi Andrew, we did think about using the grinder but as the door was closed making it hard to get a power cable out there..
I'm not sure which is the worse word.. Restoration or Bolens
Very much so Norm
Hi Iain, it was not so much an electronic tag, more of a Kubota wing indicator... Handy if we loose the Lord in the dark you see
Very good Chris
For your viewing pleasure here;s the first video from the new workshop.

Thanks Andrew, it was a shack decorating pressie from Ben
Hi Iain, yep getting organized now though I've not found enough space for everything to have a home yet.. Some stuff may have to stay boxed up for a little while longer.
I'm going to try and keep the new place tidy.. It's so nice to be able to get around the big bench without having to move or climb over stuff as it was in the old shack..
Well chaps, a couple of big milestones were passed today.. The first being I finally wired in my little radio to some big speakers via and old stereo thingy so now I no longer have to listen to tinny sounding rock music from the DAB radios little speaker and I now have the sound power to drown out Nigel's singing
The second milestone we shall get to in a bit..
The workshop is now about 85% done.. Ok, I still need to bolt the lathe motor and pulley down..
An organized bench..
Quite possibly the tidiest and cleanest this big bench will ever look.. It's nice to have the bench space to bolt my sheet metal folder on to
And as the big project bench was looking tidy I thought I'd take a few photo's of it as well
And the second big milestone?? Well with the workshop being 85% done it means it's done enough to be operational.. (The remaining 15% will be done as it's needed)..
So the only thing to do was to have an opening ceremony, for which the local royalty was called in to do the honors...
It gives me great pleasure to introduce the Mayor of Mower Land
"I pronounce this workshop open"!!

pmackellow reacted to CUBMAD in Cub Cadet 1772 Renovation
Hi everyone,
I’m new to My Old Machine having recently acquired a Cub Cadet 1772 barn find. Please see the attached photos. The Cub was imported to the UK from the USA in the 90s and has remained unused for more than 10 years. Surprisingly, after I put a battery on it, cleaned the fuel system/added fresh diesel and check the oil/coolant it started first time! a testimony to the quality of build. I plan to complete a full nut and bolt restoration to bring it back to factory release condition, with additional items if possible. I have loads of questions that other members may be able to help me with if able. It has a rear PTO running at 2000ish RPM, so can I run any implements, if so what do I need (ie clutch) and what can I attach? I'd like to know if its possible to fit - a 3 point hitch? if so what do I need? a front loader, if so what do I need? a backhoe, if so what do I need? I’ve carried-out an initial inspection and need the following items - Bonnet plastic badge (Cud Cadet) Replacement seat (tin looks good) A few of the handle covers are missing so will need replacements Would the importation of second hand or used parts be subject to taxes? Sorry for all the questions but hopefully someone you can point me in the right direction. Kind regards Ian
