Just had a great weekend in North Yorkshire at Tractorfest.

We took our 1968 Wheelhorse Commando 8 and trailed Wheelhorse aerator

Mark Smith organised the 2023 Wheelhorse Roundup and got 25 tractors this year.

Didn't have time to really set up the display so they ended up scattered on the trailer. There was still a couple left in the van.

Next Saturday is a smaller get together up in Maine so figured I'd bring up some of the stuff that doesn't go to the big shows. They haven't seen the light of day in a LONG time so it'll be nice for people to see them. They're too small and expensive to leave unattended at the big shows although I have never heard of any stealing of anything at any of them.
Just a small sample and will probably bring about 20-25 tools or so depending on available time to get them out. Pictures of the entire display all together next week

    NOS PC3 Fogger
    LA Fire Dept's Fan
    Bridge's Drill from UK
    Grass trimmer from UK
    Petro Drill
    Lapadary saw
    NOS green Amp Champ
    Orline Cut Off saw

Found a cool little TAS water pump. Needs a little TLC but it all looks to be there.

Had this in storage, brought it back home last week (before the lockdown), only got it out of the box this afternoon

Its an Amp Champ Generator with an Italian Fox F7 engine in it, the last two photos show it with my Ohlsson Rice powered version...

This weekend has been the Hethersgill Vintage Clubs annual rally. Because of covid we have not been able to run it for three years. So it's been like a fresh start.
Friday I took my farmer mates caravan through to the site, while he followed with cattle trailer with signage, table, chairs and my Sears/Roper GT16. We then erected the auction tent. I later returned home to load my car with stuff I was taking for the auction a long with a small 3X4ft trailer.
Saturday was mainly spent booking in early arrivals and things for the auction, plus setting up the car display area. After a whisky laced coffee in the caravan and retired to bed in the back of the car. Number 3 grandson bedded down in his car along side. His first time away with me and at the rally. He did very well helping out here and there.
Up early Sunday and soon was time to start booking in the car entries. Three of us were doing this but I kept getting dragged away to sort out some other peoples problems. Ten o'clock and the gate opened for the public.
The show finished around 4pm and it was time to start packing stuff away and helping load things that people had bought at the auction. I got a nice little trailer. Quite pleased with it. Also a cast iron Bamfords seat of some farm equipment. That will turn into a garden seat similar to one we already have. I hadn't given any thought as to how I was getting the trailer home. But Lewis phoned his eldest brother and he came and collect it along with the Sears and delivered it to my place. Eventually I arrived home about 8pm. had a bite to eat then unloaded the car. Well and truly tired. Bed by 10am and didn't wake till 6pm.
Today back to the site and helped finish clearing up. Took the newly purchased trailer and brought a couple of tractor tyres my mate had bought.
So below are some photo's for your perusal.

Anyone seen or know where to find information on one of these? I found a small amount of info searching on the web but nothing other than old ads and a brief description. Has a 5hp Briggs.

Trying to decide if I'm going to do anything with it or pass it on.

    Thanks

Spoke to Chris this afternoon. Sounds in good spirits. He's had speech therapy and is talking better. Still got that strange southern accent though. He can now bend his left arm more and tough his face. Starts physio' tomorrow. Long way to go though but he's in the best of places at Heywood Heath.
His friend Steve drives Pam to see him and his son Steve calls in to see her after work. So both are being looked after.

    Update on The Showman

He has now been moved to Haywards Heath hospital which has a specialised stroke unit

Unfortunately he now has covid as well !

The good news is his left side which at the time of the stroke was not working at all is coming back, Chris can lift his left leg and arm and can clench his left hand into a fist

Keep fighting mate we are all with you !

pmackellow got a reaction from JUST O&R in Ohlsson Rice NIAE test report
This arrived today, a test report by the National Institute of Agricultural Engineering (NIAE) in the UK on a model J compact engine.
An interesting read, nearly 3 hours into a 24 hour running test the gearbox siezed due to a broken tooth and parts from another engine were used to repair it.
A further 16 hours later and the unit was stopped for excessive clutch slip.
The NIAE concluded that this unit is "not suitable for general farming use", so not exactly a thumbs up then !
