Looks good Andrew. Nice and simple, not like the "Too many bits to go wrong" stuff these days. I had a Viva HC years ago and FB Victors before that. Still a Victor engine in John's barn.

Thanks for the postitive comments. I am hoping to strike a deal with the vendor. He's not desperate to sell it and will mull my offer over over Christmas. It does appear to be very clean and solid and the engine is in pieces needing a new piston etc. Service history is there too. Back in the 70s, I drive one around in a field at my mate's farm in Robertsbridge and there were a few dents in it like it been rolled and it was yellow too. (Sound familiar Nigel?! )

Just to add to this, I can't say enough good things about the Financial Ombudsman. They contacted to me today to say that they have spoken to my insurance company and I should expect a call from them. The call came in 30 minutes later and they offered me everything I was asking for and a 25% refund on my policy as a goodwill measure. Everything that was on offer was conditional on me telling the Ombudsman to close the case. They really do have amassing power over insurance companies. If you are considering going this route and would like some tips on the quickest way to progress it, PM me with some contact details. Iain

    Battery care

Found a 4 battery one https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOCO-G4-Battery-Charger-Maintainer/dp/B0068EV26I not cheap though. It's not the one I was thinking of, I'm sure it had 10 sets.

    Battery care

Line 'em up on a well ventilated shelf, and hook each to a "maintenance" charger once a month. keeping them charged protects against sulphation and frost. I have my stand-by generator permanently hooked to a C-tek charger .
