Just spent the weekend at a working weekend organised by my local vintage tractor club for members only. Its mostly big tractors but they always welcome me with the Wheelhorse's and give me plenty of room to play. Friday I arrived and set up the caravan in a good flat spot, Saturday I was up early and fitted my trusty auto-culto plough and went to the working field, after a few runs it was time for a cuppa and lunch. Most of the afternoon was spent using a plough I've never used before but I was very pleased with it just needs a few mods. Saturday evening was spent at the BBQ which was great with plenty of food and puddings, lots of banter and very enjoyable. Sunday was a chill out day with bacon rolls for breakfast cooked on the barby and plenty of tea and more chatting, finally got to the field with the tiller before they started cooking sausages for lunch. In all a very enjoyable weekend with loads of playing and seat time amongst some nice people. Heres a couple of photos I managed to take.

Oh, so that sleeve hitch won’t fit a tube frame? What’s it for? Oopsies about the advertising, at least someone will get it...

    Layter Hayterette blade ?

Many thanks, this is a test message obviously not a pedestrian machine. Let's see if it works. Thanks for the link.

    Old Buzzard Passed Away

Alain, yes GTT is slowly disintegrating and many have migrated over to Tractor Fanatics as well as social media like Face Book. A shame as I like the forum very much and made some good 'cyber' friends on there. I know of several enthusiasts who have sadly passed on in the last year in both the Bolens and Morris LCV world. Yes his wife died a few years earlier prompting Dave to sell up his collection and go on a tour of the USA in his motor caravan called HMS Rainmaker. He wrote some very amusing blogs about his adventures and catching up with old friends and fellow Bolens enthusiasts.

    Old Buzzard Passed Away

BTW, on another sad note GTTalk is near death as well. Most of moderators and many of the members have jumped ship to a site called Tractor Fanatics. I was member number 2 at GTTalk and not long after it went on air I knew this would happen. I'm only surprised it to took this long, but its been going downhill for the last several years after the founding member/owner sold it to mega bucks media company. Everythings about the money with some guys.

    Old Buzzard Passed Away

Yes he was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of knowledge on Bolens tractors to literally thousands of people fro more than a decade. Rest In Peace. I'm afraid we are getting to those days when this type of news is going to be a common occurrence. Whether you are into cars, motorbikes, tractors lawn and garden trains, the enthusiast are a dying breed and not enough people are taking there place, very sad.

    Briggs Fuel issue

The fact that the "hand over" treatment worked suggests an air leak somewhere. The gauze ore cleaner shouldn't cause a problem as it was a standard fitment on Industrial Commercial spec engines.

    Mower Wash Day

My 1969 Bolens 1476 Hydrostatic with the 14 hp S-14D Wisconsin has a 48" shaft drive deck that I can mow the cow pasture and not have any issues, three foot grass isn't a problem, I have 27"x 9.50"- 15" Duro Frontier All Terrain tires on the back and original Goodyear 5.30-8 tires on the front. The hydro unit holds 11 quarts of transmission fluid inside a solid cast iron rear end and trans axle and weighs a little over 1,000 ponds without a deck or implements; I have two of these. My 1973 Allis Chalmers 416 Shuttle has 48" belt drive right hand discharge deck and a 16 hp single cylinder cast iron Kohler K341 engine mated to a 4 speed Hydro, Yep, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear is both infinite forward and reverse. Rear tires are 25"x 10"-12" Carlisle All Trails with 25 pounds of weights on each wheel with 4" axle extenders to give it a real wide track or you can remove them and install them on the outside to mount a set of dual wheels, Fronts are smooth ribbed 16x6.50-8 for easy turn and easy on the turf. This machine was only built one year and I have two other A/C 416s true Hydro units as well. These are the two machines I use to mow this year, next year I will charge two more for mowing duties. This keeps them up and running, but not overburdened.

    WHAT IS THIS FOR.

It fits Weihrauch & Beeman HW Air Rifles. My unit in the military was tasked to be proficient in almost every hand carried weapon used by modern armies

    Wheel Horse Lawn Sweeper.

The rear castor's plastic rollers were starting to show their age. So I decided to make two new ones. A nice piece of oak was cadged of a joiner friend and rollers turned up in the lathe. I think they should last a while.
