    Winter Project

Got a few bits done today, first was the lift handles, stripped and cleaned then 4 rear hubs and a few pulleys. The fuel tanks were in poor condition inside and a bit of head scratching.Plan. A acitone and pebbles and do the okey coney round the garden with one in each hand, plan B tie them to the rear wheels of a Wheelhorse and do donuts round the garden, and plan C Pams tumble dryer, then. I had a better idea, a cement mixer, strap them in and drink tea for an hour.

    Mono Chainsaw

While putting away the newly finished Chip A Saw, this one was in a box, in the way so might as well start on a new project. Unfortunately the paint is junk so it will probably need to be sprayed. Chainsaws are lower on my list of collectable tools so that's the reason there's a few need to be gone through. This has been in a box on the shelf and hasn't seen daylight for years, just like that Bee Jay winch from the engine rebuild thread. Did I mention painting is low on the fun list? The 2 tools are a very similar in yellow so getting them ready to do at once is the plan for now. There's also and older type Chip A Saw but that is already done, just not painted. Can't remember if the yellow color is similar. Maybe @JUST O&R 's decal guy can make a couple of Mono saw decals???????? Huh? Maybe? Huh?

    Gemini restoration

More progress on the Gemini. I tried using pipe clamps for hinges that would snap over the front bar/lifting handle but felt they wouldn’t be strong enough so removed them. I came up with an idea that would enable me to lift the barrow attachment onto the bar but remain secure whilst carrying a load. I cut a section out of a pair of eyebolts, just enough to allow them to slip over the bar, and fixed them to a length of steel angle, which also provides some support and rigidity to the bucket. i then used some steel angle bolted to the rear lower edge of the bucket and cut a slot down one side to engage with the bottom of the tipping lever. It looks a bit rough and ready at the moment but it does work really well. Some more tidying up later before painting.

    Chainsaw gearbox diagram

I tore it apart and compared it to the parts list, and everything was indeed there. The bearings are much smaller than I thought, given the size of the cover recess for the bearing and thrust washer. Thanks David!

    O&R boat engine

Looks great! By the way, that stamped metal Ohlsson & Rice sign is pretty awesome!
