  1. Looking a real menacing beast. Just the job for going to church Sunday morning.
  2. Don't know what they're off, but the oval centre is intriguing.
  3. Thanks for that Richard. I'll give it a try when I get chance. Rather busy doing the base for Carols new studio.
  4. I think that would be a good buy for someone. And before anyone says owt. NOT ME!
  5. Good to meet you as well, Richard. So far I have found out the Billy Goat is 1978 or a little earlier. Model KD50. Serial 24539. B&S 5hp engine. The following numbers are on the side of the cowl. Only ones I can find. 130902 0456-01 76042006
  6. That's what I was going to do. No thread holes, Mark.
  7. I'd like to see them plough a stubble field at that speed.
  8. Yes, but there's a set of points under the flywheel. Have to go into Carlisle today, so I'll get a set of pullers. I could do with some anyway.
  9. Not a method I'm keen on, Harry. I've known flywheels get damaged that way.
  10. This Billy Goat is something else I brought back from down south. Although I've rotated the first photo the right way up, it keeps coming up like this. The engine is a 5hp B&S. Had a bit of a look at it today. Compression is good but no spark. Plug ok. Tried it on one of the tractors. Pull start freed up and working. Also height adjustment now working. I need a puller for the flywheel to get at the points. Till then I'll remove and clean tank and carb. Once I get it running and see how it performs, then I'll decide what I'm going to do with it. I doubt it'll stay as is.
  11. I'm waiting for the right time. If there is such a thing.
  12. It would seem that when I journey darn sarf, I come back with more than I go with. Last year it was an engine. This year, along with some other bits and bobs, I got this homemade scarifier. Also this Wheel Horse side discharge deck. There's one or two holes in the deck that shouldn't be, but reasonably solid. Spindles are free with no noticeable play. It will be stripped and rebuilt sometime over the winter. Not forgetting the Billy Goat. I should have taken a photo, but it's now tucked away awaiting my attention.
  13. A fine collection you have.
  14. Sorry, Chris. Somehow I thought the Ransome was yours.
  15. Nice photo's George. Thanks for posting.
  16. I currently use a rear discharge I rebuilt. The grass over here, up north anyway, tends to be wet or damp. And grows to fast. Rear discharge makes a mess of the rear under side of the tractor.
  17. Only showmen, (Not Chris), ie fair ground, circus and the like can tow more than one trailer. Maybe farmers/agricultural contractors as well.
  18. That's his Ransome in the line up and I think you just see the bonnet of his Bolens. Isn't that enough?
  19. I'm also pleased with the way the blades have worked out. With the blade used in conjunction with the roller, they did a pretty good job. (Again see Biddenden photo's.) As Chris said, the clumps of weeds made things difficult. I also will be doing a mod or adjustment or two. Firstly to see if I can get to use the lift lever to apply pressure, instead of my feet. When the blades down, the lever is to far away to hold.
  20. Thank you Kev for all your hard work in organising it. Also Ethan, Steve, your brother and all those who helped and attended. Hope to make it next year.
  21. Looks good Alain. I've just acquired a side discharge like that to do up.
  22. A few photo's I managed to take. Harryt's very nice MF. Another of Harry's with his Serf in the back ground. Not like that. Like that! Anyone know this strange chap? Just drop it at my house, lad. Be just the job for behind a road legal garden tractor. Not seen a Rickman for years. The mower from the Anchor Butter add. Now in the possession of young Harryt.
  23. A few photo's wot I tuk. Bit late I know, but I've been busy. The Saturday line up. And from the other direction. Who said size matters. Nice fit. There's something about industrial trucks. Ian's GT14 ready for doing a bit of ploughing Ransome with trailed plough. Andrew trying the Trojan for size. I should have got a photo of the rear view. Contrary to popular belief, Nigel can make coffee. That's all folks.
  24. Don't know who she is, but she'd look better with her teeth in.
